The Tale of The Professor Part 2

Chapter 10

"Alright boys, good job." A femine voice echoed from the posse in front of them. A voice Professor could not put a name to but he noticed Red Baron who seemed to know the voice, his eyes wide with shock. Professor turned his attention back to the lawmen. A woman walked ahead of the posse and pointed a cattleman revolver at them. The woman was dressed much differently than the lawmen next to her, she wore 2 bandoliers across her chest holding pullets across them, and wore black gloves matching her black shirt and dark brown vest. She didn't wear a badge meaning she could be a Bounty Hunter.

"Long time Red Baron." The girl said.

"Been too long Lousia." Red Baron responded.

Professor was right, Red Baron and this 'Lousia' do know one another.

"All these years I've chased you. I finally caught you and now you're gonna hang for your crimes." Lousia added.

"How very noble of you." Red Baron said sarcastically.

Professor looked glanced around them, seeing a large pair of boulders just a jump away from them. Professor leaned over close to Red Baron.

"Hey if we go for those boulders we have some cover..." Professor whispered. Red Baron nodded.

Lousia inched closer to the outlaws.

"What are you two talking about?" Lousia demanded. After a couple seconds of silence Red Baron and Professor jumped for cover and then the shootout began.

"Dammit Red Baron!" the woman screamed as the two outlaws shuffled into cover.

"You boys get in there and put those men in chains, but leave them alive or you aren't getting your cut of the bounty" She added

The sound of bullets range over Professor and Red Baron impacting with the boulders and whizzing through the air.

"Got any other bright ideas, Professor?" Red Baron asked with an annoyed tone.

Professor rolled his eyes at Red Baron before frantically looking around for possibilities to escape as Red Baron stood up and began to fire back at the lawmen with his revolvers. Professor then saw 2 horses hooked up the road, they weren't his horse or Red Baron but it seemed like their best way out. Professor reached up and pulled Red Baron back down with his sleeve.

"Let's head for those horses!!" Professor yelled at Red Baron.

Red Baron nodded to Professor and they waited a few seconds before lunging out of cover and mounted the hitched horses by a couple of trees.

"Alright Professor, let's ride!!" Red Baron shouted while still shooting.

The two outlaws rushed down the mountain side with the horses.

"After them god dammit!!" Lousia yelled as she and the lawmen mounted their horses. Red Baron and Professor were in for a ride now.

It's been about an hour and the outlaws reached the deep swamp of lagras. It was late dusk around now, still raining and noises of lawmen yelling, guns firing and outlaws running.

Eventually they shook the law on their tail and dismounted at a small shack to hide from the heat for a while. Red Baron swung inside the door slamming behind Professor after he entered.

"Well that was a pretty good job I'd say." Red Baron joked, pulling down his bandana huffing for air.

Professor pulled down his bandana and looked out the window while huffing for air.

"We should head back to camp, not hideout in this swamp." Professor added. Red Baron nodded.

"Yep, not with those nightfolk out there." Red Baron commented.
