Night Shift

Herb rolled his eyes and huffed. It'd been a really long fucking day as it was, not to mention the fact he was hungover. He was never much of a drinker until he met Sparkling. He'd met him a few months ago when his friend Vampire cookie had taken him to bar where Sparkling worked.
Sparkling drew him in. Herb kept going back just so he could see the blonde's eyes again. He couldn't resist a drink when it was offered and the bar did an un-resistible herbal wine that tasted just like green tea.

But then it became a habit. Everyday he'd wake up, spend his day working at the garden centre before going to Sparkling's bar and staying there until closing. Sometimes he would go back to Sparkling's place for the night after the bar shut. He felt like their friendship meant a lot more than a friendship should. He craved Sparkling when he wasn't around. Not in a sexual way, he just craved his company. Something about Sparkling being around made him feel safe and secure.

He checked the time on his phone, 11:38pm.
"Hey, Sparkling?"
Sparkling looked over towards the stool Herb was seated in.
"Can I have another drink?"
Sparkling giggled under his breath
"Don't you think you've had enough?"
Herb just looked down in embarrassment.
"You can come over after the bar closes if you would like. I don't want you going home alone after the amount of alcohol you've had tonight."
Herb smiled warmly. "I'd like that."

The alarm on bar's clock beeped indicating it was 12:00am. Everyone had already left apart from Herb, which made Sparkling's job a lot easier.
"Do you want to let Vampire know you're staying with me? I don't want him worrying about you if you don't come home."
Herb nodded and started typing away to Vampire whilst Sparkling cleaned the bar and tables.
"I think I'm ready to leave, Have you got everything?" Sparkling asked.
"Yep, I'm all packed. Are we going in your car?" Herb looked at Sparkling with admiration in his eyes.
"We're going in my car, you're drunk and you walked here, remember?"
Herb giggled. "Oh yeah,"

They pulled up to Sparkling's apartment. Sparkling got out of his car and opened the door for Herb.
They walked towards the door and put the code into the intercom beside it.
"Herb, wrong way!" Sparkling laughed as the short man walked up the wrong set of stairs.
Herb quickly followed to Sparkling's apartment and they let themselves inside.

"I always forget how lovely your apartment is. Needs more plants though." Herb laughed and bent over to pet Sparkling's cat.
"Of course you'd say that, Herb" Sparkling looked over to herb, who was playing with the small tabby cat. He adored how the short man had such a way with animals.
"Would you like anything to drink, Herb? Non-Alcoholic, I mean." Herb's eyes lit up at the word 'drink'
"Oh, uhh. I'll have some coke if you have any?" Sparkling nodded and he started pouring the coke into a tall glass. "Here you go, love." Herbs heart fluttered at the words. "Love?" He thought. "He called me love?"
"Are you okay there Herb?" Sparkling laughed at him "You look at little flustered."
"No- I'm okay." He looked down and whispered. "I just really like it when you call me that."
"Hmm? What was that? I couldn't quite hear you." Sparkling asked, genuinely. Herb ignored him and got up from playing with the cat to grab the drink. He sat on one of the stools at Sparkling's breakfast bar. "Of course you'd have a bar in your house."
Sparkling just laughed at him "It's me after all."

After Herb had finished his drink, he became bored. "Can we do something?" He whined
"What would you like to do?" Herb thought for a moment. "Can we play a video game?"
Sparkling laughed. "Of course. What game?" He awaited Herbs response as he turned his Xbox on.
"Minecraft. I haven't played that game in years." Herb decided.
"Alright then." He handed Herb a controller. "Would you like to start a new world?"
Herb nodded and they loaded up a new world. Sparkling began chopping down trees and Herb just ran around collecting flowers. He met Sparkling at spawn. "Here, I've made you stone tools and an Iron axe and shovel, since you like building a lot. Herb smiled. "You remembered? We haven't played together for like a year!" Sparkling just smiled and let his character run off to get more iron.
As sparkling was in the caves, Herb began building them a house, it was made from Oak wood, Birch wood and stone bricks, which he had to get with his stone pickaxe because Sparkling had forgotten you need stone for builds too. It began to turn night in the game. Herb was fending off their house while he waited for Sparkling to get back. As he was hitting mobs, Sparkling ran past and Herb accidentally hit him with his sword which killed him because he was on 2 hearts from falling in the caves.
"Herb!" He yelled, tackling the smaller man. He sort of kneeled on top of him and ruffled his hair.

Until Herb felt his pants growing. "Oh, god." He muttered. "Is everything okay?" Sparkling asked, concerned. As Sparkling moved his leg to get off of Herb, he felt it. "Oh."

"Herb it's okay. Is this how you feel about me?" Sparkling ran his hand through Herb's hair.

"It's okay if you do. I like you too. In a more than friends way." Sparkling rubbed Herbs back to comfort him.
"I- I like you a lot Sparkling." Herb said, looking into Sparkling's eyes.
"I can tell." He laughed.
"Could we uhh..." He paused for a moment. "Could we do something about this?" Herb asked.
"Do what, love?"
Herb felt a million butterflies in his stomach. "Can you..." he whispered. "Fuck me?"
"Oh my." Sparkling looked stunned. "Is that what you want?"
Herb nodded.
"Well, okay then. Only if you want to, because I don't want to do this if you don't." Sparkling pulled away a bit. "Have you done this before?"
Herb shook his head. "Only once. And it didn't last."
"Okay then." Sparkling carefully took the pillow from Herbs lap. "It's a good thing I bought some lube. You're over so often and I guessed this would happen, so I wanted to be prepared."
Herb laughed. "That's good." He looked down. "Should I take my pants off, or?"
Sparkling giggled. "That would be a good idea." He grabbed the lube from his top drawer in his bedroom and made his way back to the lounge. "Do you want to do it on the couch? Or we can go to my bedroom if you'd like."
Herb thought for a bit. "I want to do it on the couch. It's hotter that way."
"Okay then." Sparkling opened the cap on the lube and placed in on the coffee table. "Could you lay down? Make sure you're comfortable."
Herb laid down and pulled his shirt up a bit.
"You need to put your legs in the air, otherwise I can't get to you."

Sparkling undid the button on his pants and dropped them to the floor. "Are you ready?"
Herb nodded and Sparkling lubed himself up. "Can I put a little bit on your hole? It will make it a lot easier and it won't hurt as much. Especially if you've never really done this before."
"Okay." Herb said, preparing himself. Sparkling put a small amount of lube around Herbs hole. "I'm going to start now."

Sparkling thrusted in the same position he had when Herb yelled. Herb covered his mouth, trying to to yell as the blonde slammed into him. "Sparkling?"
"Yes herb?" Sparkling kissed the back of his neck.
"Do you think we could be, like boyfriends?" He paused. "Or is it too soon."
Sparkling laughed. "I think that would be a lovely idea"
Herb smiled "Good."
