CH1: First Day & Free Winds

Late on the first day of school! Not exactly a good impression on her part but it really couldn't have been helped since she had a last minute family emergency to deal with back in Mondstadt and had been out of the country. Luckily, her Uncle Crepus had been able to call in his family pilot and get her on the first private plane back to Japan that he could. As a precaution, the school had been notified ahead of time that she might be late and she'd been told that her tardiness would be excused.

Yuuei's gates tower over Y/n's figure ominously, sending a small spark of fear down the young hero hopeful's spine. With great trepidation she approaches the entrance, mentally praying that her UA student ID will be enough to grant her access to the school grounds. Thankfully for her the gates creak open once she draws near, allowing her entry before quickly slamming shut behind her.

Japanese was a language that she was thankfully familiar with, since her mother had been raised in Inazuma- a country originally founded by the Japanese before becoming its own sovereign nation thanks to the last electro archon.

So you could say that she was confident in her speech... though writing might prove to be a different matter unfortunately.

Her eyes fall back to the flower tattoo on the inside of her wrist- a jonquil, a red camellia blossom, and lastly a cecilia flower, all of which were tied together by a golden ribbon that seemed to sprout from her radial artery. If she had to guess then her symbol was the cecilia, meanwhile the other two signified her two soulmates... the jonquil symbolized desire and the yearning for someone to return your affections, while the camellia symbolized a passionate love. Her own flower, the lovely cecilia that was only native to her home nation of Mondstadt, represented the freedom that she held so dear to her heart. Pulling down her sleeve, she mused about how fitting it was that she had such a symbol.

So caught up in her thoughts, she was surprised to see that she had reached her new classroom so quickly. However she put those thoughts behind her and quickly knocked on the door, so as to alert the teacher that she had arrived.

After a few moments the door slid open, revealing a tired looking man with eye bags big enough to rival those of her Aunt Ganyu's.

"Oh there you are, sorta thought you would come in later." The raggedy man glanced at the clock on the wall. "If you arrived fifteen minutes ago you would've been on time." He turned on his heel and beckoned her into class before he returned to his spot in the front of the class. "Uh... Ragnvindr was it? There's an empty seat by Uraraka, get settled quickly so we can start the apprehension tests."

"Right, thank you-" You struggle to recall your teacher's name, having briefly read the email you received about your new class on the flight. "Aizawa-sensei." Inclining your head in thanks, you hurry down to your seat in the back row- smiling and whispering greetings to those of your classmates who offer one to you first- then take a seat by the friendly brunette who's been waving at you. After a few moments of getting settled in, the brunette turns to you and introduces herself.

"Hi! I'm Uraraka Ochaco! It's nice to meet you!" Uraraka says with a smile, cute dimples showing as she does so. You shoot her a grin of your own back and introduce yourself in a way that only a Ragnvindr can.

"Ragnvindr Y/n, though that's a mouthful so you can just call me Y/n." There's a shine to your eyes as you say this, doing your best to channel your adoptive cousin's confidence. "It's a pleasure to meet you Uraraka-chan."

Uraraka blinks in surprise, not used to calling someone by their first name right off the bat. "Okay! So Y/n-chan I have to ask, are you from Japan? Your name sounds foreign!"
