"I can't get it right!"

"Maybe you just need to adjust the amount for this material."

"For goodness sake, I know that, Brainy!"

Frustrated, Lena just rubs her temples while Brainy closely inspects whatever went wrong with their latest experiment. Apparently, it is some prototype upgrade that Lena wanted to incorporate into Supergirl's anti-kryptonite suit, but it seems that she is constantly failing at it. The genius knew how much Kara is struggling with sheer amounts of exposure to kryptonite and how much the Kryptonian has helped her on several occasions. With that, she decided to give back to the heroine by enforcing her suit even further.

With him noticing how stressed she is at the moment, Brainy purses his lips and crosses his arms.

"Say, why don't we take a little break?" he suggests, looking at the cityview just outside of the DEO, "Besides, I think it is already lunchtime. I wish to take Nia on a rather... lovely date today."

"Sounds splendid, but I think I need to focus more on this upgrade rather than food right now," Lena says, sitting up straight and cracking her knuckles.

"Suit yourself."

After Brainy left the DEO lab, Lena goes back to work immediately, going through trial after trial. Unfortunately, it resulted into error after error, which made the genius even more furious than before. She mutters a curse right before she heard sounds coming from—

"A... violin?"

She perches her head up, looking around as to whomever's playing the violin. She shook her head, disregarding it as if it was something that her imagination came up with right after handfuls of stress.

When she heard those sounds again, that's when her curiosity peaked to its zenith.

With that, she cleans up some of the stuff from the lab before heading downstairs to ask around on who is playing the violin at this hour. Having received not much inquiries and feedback from some of the people at the DEO, she decides to ask Alex Danvers herself.

"Hey, Alex?"

"Lena! What's up?" the DEO directors turned around, smiling when she sees the genius right infront of her.

"If you don't mind me asking..." Lena begins, fidgeting with her hands to ease her nervousness, "Do you know who's playing the violin here?"

"The vio—Oh, you mean one of our captives here?"

"T-they're held captive?"

Alex nods hesitatingly.

"That's strange," the genius mutters, "How come someone whom I think is very skilled at playing the violin... be held captive here at the DEO?"

"Well..." Alex grimaces, "She's not a 'captive-captive,' per se. She's turned herself in just a few months ago."

"How so?"

"Let's just say she's one of those aliens who's afraid to show themselves to the world."

Lena hums just after she connects the dots.

"I see. Well, in any case... do you know where her containment cell is..?"

"Just be cautious in peeking into the room," Alex says, "I heard she's not really ready to meet any strangers yet... or better yet, an audience."

Lena smiles, "I'll keep that in mind. Thank you."

Once the DEO director leaves her be, Lena discreetly opened the door, leaving it a bit ajar for her to just peak her head through it.
