Jason was the eldest of three, but when his Younger brother fell ill, he was struggling to pay for the medication he needed. Then a stranger came to see him.

He offered him a deal to save his brother. But in the end he killed him anyway, and crippled his brother. So the past few years Jason had been cursed to ride the earth as the Ghost Rider hunting escaped damned souls, and punish the wicked. As long as Jason did what the stranger wanted no harm would come to his brother.
He was then tasked to take down Blackheart, and his followers, and if he succeeded he would return his soul, and as a token of goodwill Mephistopheles gave his brother the ability to walk again.
In the time of him being the Ghost Rider he befriended a man who works at a cemetery, he's known as the Caretaker.

In a short time the Caretaker taught him about being the Ghost Rider.
Jason's top priority is to make sure his brother is safe from harm, and if hunting down Blackheart is the way for that to happen he's going to do his damnest to do it.
