"What do you mean?" It took everything in her body to not stammer, to not show any anxiety or fear. She stared at him with a stern gaze, keeping her shaky and clenched fists under the table. No way she is going to show him that she is affected by his words. She flashed a weak nervous smile, "We are already talking, so I do not understand what you mean."Albert raised an eyebrow. As if he expected her to react this way. He took another bite of his food and hummed, "you know exactly what I mean. The way your leg keeps bouncing up and down shows that." He flashed a small smile, "I didn't come here to harm you, [Y/N]."
The way her name slipped from his lips made her body want to shiver. It was soft, kind, sickenly sweet. She wanted to throw up. How could a man sound so gentle when there was a hidden secret behind his words? Behind his tone? How can he be so soft yet so cruel at the same time? Or is she simply going crazy and he means nothing by it? Is this a joke? No- his eyes are truthful. Wickedly so.
[Y/N] stared at him with an expression she fought to keep still, reminding herself of all the training she might have to use. He said he won't hurt her.. but humans are liars. It's in their nature to lie, to hurt others, to be greedy. He could simply be another devil sent from hell. She pursed her lips as anxious anger bubbled in her chest.
Who is he? What does he want? Her gaze narrowed, no way he is from the mafia now that I look at him up close. He holds himself too open, his expressions are too free. Even undercover agents in the mafia come off cold and closed off.. he is the opposite. If so, who does he work for? Does he work for himself? Maybe I am misunderstanding and he is here on another business? No, no, if it was something that was good then he wouldn't be beating around the bush like this.
Irene was right. She is definitely a paranoid person.
The amount of speculations and thoughts that ran through her head in under just a minute could beat the record of the fastest runner alive. She tensed her jaw and her lips curled into a small snarl. She can't trust him. Definitely not.
She tried to keep from snapping at him. "No, Sir Albert, I do not know what you mean. And by the way you won't come out and tell me shows you aren't entirely sure either. Now, if you excuse me, I have to clean up the rest of the shop and kitchen." She pushed herself up from the seat, pausing as she sent him a sharp glance. "Enjoy your food."
I want him to choke on it. She couldn't help but think.
[Y/N] didn't even get the time to move away from the table before he spoke. Behind her, Albert just smiled kindly as he took another bite. His voice was still soft and gentle. "Miss, the way you are so defensive shows that you do know what I am talking about." he chuckled like the Cheshire Cat, "Most would be curious. You responded in anger. Why would you be so angry about someone wanting to chat?"
'Miss'. He can tell I am a woman. Or did he already know?
She tensed like a spring about to jump. He got her there. No stupid and niave and person would act the way she did.
Stupid, Stupid, stupid! How can she be so careless?! She should have kept her emotions in place and played on his words instead of pushing them away. Like a doll, she turned back to him with rigged motions. There were knots in her shoulders from the way her body was clenching up. Her eyes were trained on him nervously, suspiciously. She can't get out of this now.
".. what do you what?" [Y/N] basically choked the words out. It tasted like acid on her tongue.
Albert smiled bigger with a hum. "Please sit down. We have much to discuss."
She couldn't do much in this situation but obey. Her eyes narrowed in the nastiest glare she could manage as she shoved herself down on the seat once more, legs bouncing up and down as she stared at him without blinking. He didn't seem affected by her scowl. She could tell he was definitely pleased that she was slowly starting to cave in. Her hand itched to punch that grin from his face.
