Chapter One
“Oh Nicole, you’re so beautiful.” Justin said lovingly, cupping my cheek with his warm hand.
“Oh Justin, stop.” I said with a shy smile.
He wrapped his other hand around my waist and pulled me close to him. He looked into my eyes, before closing his and moving his face closer to mine. My eyes fluttered shut and I anticipated for the moment when his would touch mine. I felt his warm, minty breathe on my parted lips. I could feel the smirk on his lips as he was a centimeter from my own grin.
“Wake up.”
I looked at him, obviously confused.
He grinned and winked at me, “Time to wake up Nicole.”
“What?”
“Nicole, wake up! Nicole… NICOLE DON’T MAKE ME GET THE BUCKET!”
I sat straight up in my bed to find my best friend jumping on my bed. She grinned at me when she saw my eyes open and I glared at her.
“I was having a very nice dream with Justin Bieber in it and he was about to kiss… But then YOU decided to wake me up, so it never happened!”
She rolled her blue eyes and jumped off my bed, landing with a THUMP on my carpet. She turned to me, hands on her hips.
“Well, if you’re finished dreaming about things that obviously will never happen, I picked out your school outfit, so go hurry up and shower. Derek and I are waiting.” She said, before turning on her heel and walking out of my room.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed the closed that were folded neatly on my bed and dragged myself to my bathroom, shutting the door behind me. I turned the shower on and stripped, jumping into the shower. I quickly washed my brown hair and body, knowing that Jenna’s older brother, Derek, would leave without me if I wasn’t fast enough. I turned the shower off once I finished and towel dried. I slipped on my undergarments and then the jeans and gray tank top Jenna picked out for me. I swiped on some mascara over my eye lashes, pink lip gloss on my lips, and I was ready to go. I walked back into my room, picked up my backpack, and walked downstairs and went straight to the kitchen, where I saw my mom, Jenna, and Derek laughing.
“Morning honey, I made your favorite chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast since it’s your first day of school.” My mom said, placing a plate of pancakes on the counter next to Derek, who was stuffing his own face with the delicious chocaltely goodness.
I sat next to him and he gave me a nod and a wink, before continuing to eat the pancakes like I wasn’t there. Me, being the typical girl I was, turned red like a tomato. Trust me, if Derek James Benson winked at... You’d react the same exact way. Those pretty blue eyes and blondish brown hair that flopped into his face just...
I shook my head and shuffled in my seat, getting those thoughts out of my head. Derek was strictly on the no date list. Not only was he my best friend’s older brother, but he was also the hottest senior to ever exist in the history of North Coast High’s history. There was no one I could go for a guy like him. We all finished our food and said good bye to my mom, before walking out of my house and getting into Derek’s brand new black BMW.
“Nice car,” I said as we drove toward school.
He smirked in the rearview mirror before saying, :I know.”
Jenna rolled her eyes, before turning the radio on.
“TONIGHT LET’S GET SOME, AND LIVE WHILE-“
“No.” Derek said, switching the station.
“Oh, c’mon Derek! Don’t be a party pooper!” Jenna whined.
He rolled his eyes, “My car, my rules sis.”
She pouted in her seat, “That’s bull shit. If I was in my own car, you would change the station.”
Derek sighed, before pulling into his parking space.
He opened his car dramatically, grabbed his backpack and turned to look at us before saying, “Well, you can walk home bitches.”
Jenna and I gawked at him as he walked toward his friends.
“D-Did he just quote mean girls?” I asked her, shocked.
She nodded, “I think so.”
We looked at each other for a few seconds, and then burst out laughing.
“O-Oh gosh your brother i-is gr-great.”
“O-Oh my gosh, I know. Props to him.”
We both finished our giggling before continuing into the school building. Walking past kissing couples, screaming groups of girls, and awkward freshman, we finally made it to our lockers, which were right next to each other.
I clicked did my combination, before putting some of my new school stuff in my locker. I felt a shadow looming over me, so I instantly turned around and let out a happy yell.
“Jason!”
He grinned at me, showing me his pearly, brace free smile, “Hey Nikki, nice to see you.”
I laughed, giving him a tight hug, “You too, Jace. How was Mexico?”
“Great, lots of babes there. I can’t tell you how many chicks I ban-“
“Woah there, Jace. No one wants to hear that!” Jenna said with a laugh, but I could detect some jealousy in her tone.
Jenna has had a crush on Jason from the second that we first met him in science class freshman year. Even when he had a face full of pimples and a brace filled smile, she had, and still does, have a huge crush on him.
He laughed and gave her a hug, “Nice to see you too, Jen. Well, I’m gonna go scope out the girls. See you guys in science next period.”
Jenna let out a dreamy sigh as she watched him walk away. I walked her arm.
“Hey! What was that for?”
I smirked, “You were drooling again.”
She sighed, “Do you think he’ll ever notice me?”
I patted her arm reassuringly, “He’d honestly be an idiot not too.”
She shut her locker and hiked her bag over her shoulder, “Whatever. Let’s just get to class.”
Give the story some time to develop please! I know it’s short but.. It will get better. This is only the first chapter!
