Everything seemed to be going wrong. The world was spinning wildly and I was spinning with it. Rocks and dust flew at my face every time I hit what felt like the moist walls of a cave. The only noise I could hear was the frigid wind flying past my face and the sound of myself panicking as I fell. The farther I went the darker it got, it came to a point where the only light I could see looked as if it was as big as the tip of a needle.
It became pitch black and I could no longer see light. Along with the wind, I began to hear a soft trickle of water coming from an unknown place. The trickle quickly turned into a sound of a raging river, louder and louder it got. I began to panic a little more now not knowing what treacherous fate may lie ahead. Assuming that I would find my fate soon, I held my breath and braced my self for the worst.
I was right I would hit something soon, but instead of hitting water I was dropped into what felt like a rough fishing net of some kind and was harshly bounced out of it onto the ground.
I was still panicking wildly even though I was now safe from falling to certain death or drowning. I still had no idea where I was, it was to dark to tell. I gently felt the ground around me to see if anything was going to hurt me, to my surprise there was nothing there but soft damp sand.
I knew I was safe for now. sitting down with my knees to my chest. I started thinking about the wild events that had just taken place, for it was just this morning that my father and I had gotten into a huge fight. I still remember the harsh words we had spoken to each other earlier.
Earlier That Day:
"I won't let you go, your to young to go to another school all the way across the country and besides the school is for prodigies, you'll never get through the gates" my father began to argue.
"Dad I'm sixteen now and I'm capable of much more than you think. I have already been accepted into the school for my talents. If you would just pay attention to me for once maybe-" My screaming was suddenly cut off.
"Don't you dare say I never pay attention to you. You know I try, but most of the time I'm busy making money so you can live a good life" He snapped back at me.
"But that's the point dad you pay more attention to your stupid job than anything I do." I stammered.
"Name one time I didn't give you my full attention when I was working" He pronounced in a calmer voice.
"I can name multiple times. I have gotten straight A's since I was in kindergarten and when I showed you the certificate you pushed it to the side and kept working with out saying a word to me. When I made the varsity volleyball team as a freshman, you didn't even so much as look at me when I told you, Or how about the time when-" I was stopped mid sentence.
"You just don't understand Stella this argument is over" He exclaimed firmly.
"No you don't understand, if I can't find someone here who will listen to me then I'll go find someone else who will" I screamed and walked out the door slamming it behind me.
I ran down the street with tears rolling down my face. I didn't know where I was going but I didn't care.
When I got far enough away from my house I dried my eyes and calmed myself. I thought I was just going to take a simple stroll to cool off a little then go back home to apologize, but as I was walking something shining in a bush caught my eye.
For an unknown reason I was drawn to it, like a moth to a flame. I was determined to find out what it was. The closer I came the more beautiful it shined. I looked into the bush but I still wasn't able to make out what this magical thing was, so I began to climb into the rough shrubbery. Farther and farther I went into the plant and just was about to focus on what it was I lost my footing and fell into a hole I didn't realize was there. I roughly tumbled and stumbled and ended up in the strange place.
Thinking about those events made my eyes burn with tears, but I refused to cry. Now that my thoughts had calmed me, I decided to do the logical thing, get up and find a way out of there. I slowly began to stand, steadying myself so I didn't fall. Shuffling my feet around the room I began gradually looking for a new way out.
To my dismay I couldn't find anything not even the wall. Determined to keep going, I kept shuffling inch by inch.
As I made my way around I began to hear a soft melody. It was very elegant, like ballroom music. I wanted to follow it, but the music caught me of guard, i wasn't paying attention. I took one step and roughly tripped over something hard. I stumbled. I tried grabbing for something to catch myself, but there was nothing. I was falling again into the unknown.
Inches from the ground I felt a firm hand catch me. Instantly I was twirled up straight, and quickly sat down onto a soft elevated object. I began to hear concerned voice talking to me, but I was in to much shock to make make out what they where saying.
After a minuet or two I couldn't hear anything anymore. I sat in silence for a wile with all of these crazy thoughts and questions going through my head all at once. I was scared, worried, but also curious. A loud noise interrupted my thoughts. I heard three soft clicks then a loud snap. Lights began to slowly flicker on.
