HE FELT DROWSY DURING THE WHOLE RIDE. the faint music resonating on his earbuds that you shared with him softly thumping its beats and it didn't help his current state, he could've slept by now if it wasn't for the tiny bumps of the train and your voice peering his senses. he yearns for the mushy pillow pressed against his delicate face and bury his being in the pool of your presence, a cozy feeling indeed.but he doesn't want to push his desire on this subway with kuroo on your other side giddily chatting with you. the way you express your happiness knowing that you have been given the chance to hang out with your best friend through words and small banters are what made your boyfriend chugging further.
one, he would butt in the conversation if needed, perhaps sarcastic remarks would do, to which you would add on support and kuroo would painfully smile at the both of you.
two, when words had finally came empty in his bag he would half pretend at listening to one of your stories on how you hated it when your past colleagues had invited you to a party and you had to turn them down, well aware that they were desperate of snatching a person that would light up a room with flooded energy such as yourself. you weren't up to that and you'd rather stay at home with kenma.
"proud of you" kuroo lightly chuckles.
"why thank you"
three— just one more stop. a few minutes he would blink twice or thrice, it wasn't peculiar of a change of habit so none of you suspected a thing. i just want to sleep— his thoughts hanged on top of his head and he can't help but stoop down, shrinking in his seat, his gaze shifted in the glass window behind as he witnessed the sunset, descending at a faster pace, faster than he imagined.
and finally, finally saying goodbyes with his best friend as the two of you treaded down to home, you fishing out the keys with its jingles kenma could relish its signal.
that...kind of gave much conviction, seeing him slightly worked up when his eyes broaden just a bit, opening the door, taking a bath, fast forward because kozume kenma is incapable at this point.
you watched him as he plopped himself in your bed, forgetting about anything else. forgetting that you weren't that naive to see through his veil. you took the time to rest beside him, your arms decided to sneak its way into his waist, your chest pressed against his back, fuzzy feathers tickling your cheeks, taking in his scent before planting a kiss in his nape.
kenma felt ants crawling beneath his skin, for just a second, peeling his eyes open and furrowing his brows. "you knew?"
"shhh its okay, go to sleep"
fourthly, he needs to realize that it's better telling you in the first place, he'll try doing that next time.
