My parents aren't really around. My dad died when I was ten and my mom works in another state. They're my adoptive parents, I never met my real parents. Dunno what happened to them and I really don't care. I live in a small town in Pennsylvania, nothing much happens here. According to the National Agency of Monster Hunters we are literally the least paranormal town. The most interesting thing that happened here is that a group of mysterious monster hunters defended the town from a group of vampires in 1912. No one knows who they were or where they went after that but it inspired the founding of the National Agency of Monster Hunters and later in 1930 the North American Monster Hunter Association. Ever since the Americas were colonized, there have been troubles with monsters and cryptids. Werewolves, vampires, wendigos, and other vicious creatures would attack settlers. Monster Hunter Guilds would go out and hunt them until the 1790s when these creatures of the night were made to be a non-threat. However, a hundred years later in 1890, they came back in force. The few remaining Monster Hunter guilds as well as the armed forces of the North American powers barely kept them at bay. Of course, in 1912 my town was defended by an unknown Monster Hunter guild that may or may not have used magic, that's still disputed, and the following year NAMH was established. Everyone knows this story. As of the time I'm writing this, NAMH and NAMHA have done a pretty good job, they've exterminated all the worlds remaining monsters. Occasionally you get a boy who cried wolf or someone claiming to have seen a Wendigo but they're always fake.
Hi, my name is Leo Krüger. I come from a town in Pennsylvania called Wyverndale. I am sixteen years old, in my junior year of high school and I'm writing in this journal because my therapist told me it would help with my mental health and anger issues. He said that I didn't have to write about how I felt but I could just write to alleviate stress. I play the guitar and sing for my punk/grunge band called All Monsters. It's a reference to what we were called in middle school. You see, our drummer and bass player are both fae with native descent (they're twins), our rhythm guitar player is an elf and me? Well, I appear human at a glance. No one really knows what I am. My skin is a pale, my hair is black and my eyes are an odd yellow color. Now you might just be thinking "well from that description you sound human", well I'm on the thinner side but I'm stronger than I should be, I have really good endurance and stamina, and apparently my skin is thicker than a normal humans. I also have better vision at night than I do the day (I either wear contacts or sunglasses most of the time to help with my vision in the day, aviators are my preferred style), very good hearing, and one hell of a nose. The doctor says it's almost like nature engineered me, or whatever race I'm supposed to be a part of, to hunt. I was always made fun of in elementary and middle school because I was always wearing sunglasses. From the beginning, one person always stood up for me. Her name is Eilis, a half-wood elf girl that I've known since kindergarten. She has this long red hair, freckles across her cute face, the most adorable smile. Too bad her boyfriends a complete asshat with no regard for how anyone feels. In middle school, Eilis and I grew apart as her parents were rich and moved her to a prestigious middle school on the other side of the country half way through sixth grade. She didn't even come back for the summer. The next time I saw her in person was the summer before Freshman year. You know when you see something so beautiful it takes your breath away? That's what I felt when I saw her at my door that day. I nearly asked her out on the spot but she was with her boyfriend. I don't know how I can even compare to this guy. Sure I'm strong, but this guy looks strong. I might be smart but he's smarter. I am 5'10" but this guy is easily 6'5". His family is rich and he treats her like royalty but somehow Eilis can't see he's a shitty person. To top it all off, his name is Osiris. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO COMPETE WITH SOMEONE WHO'S NAMED AFTER AN EGYPTIAN GOD.
God I'm so stupid why would she ever choose me over him? It's almost been three years and you're still in love with someone who doesn't love you, what the hell is wrong with you? Why can't you see she's not into you, you ducking idiot? Why am I writing this? God fucking dammit why am I crying?
Alright, well, it's been an hour since I wrote all that. Anyway, Eilis just texted me and invited me to a party on Halloween, she said that costumes aren't required so that's a good thing. Don't know why but I'm gonna go, hell, might do something insane like kiss Eilis in front of Osiris and see how that goes. No, that's stupid. Ehhh, I'll think of something to do.
