The house was large and dark beige, old as people often described it. Grated windows lined across the house. There weren't any vines that grew on the walls it was well taken care of. Gardens lush green with bushes shaped into perfection seeming almost fake. The moon illuminated the gravel pathway as I walked towards the house, swinging my bag and gravel crunching under my feet. When I reached the door, it was larger than I thought it was. The song began to play in my head as I stared at the door. The song was popular around the country, known by everyone. A song about this house and the time of twilight. I didn't remember why I came here because I'm just an English teacher. What would an English teacher be doing at some haunted place? The door suddenly opened without me touching it at all. Hesitantly, I stepped into the house and a violin started to ring through the halls. It was the violin solo in the song. It was calming, but also made me worry. The violin was drawing me further into the house wanting to find the source. I wandered around the house making my way to the second floor. The interior wasn't very clean. Dust was resting on the furniture and dirt was running along the wall. It was nothing like the exterior. Most of the flooring was carpet, but sometimes there would be tile. At the end of a hall, I found the parlor door slightly opened. As I peered into the room and saw two men in the middle of the room. One was playing the violin and the other was dancing to the music.
The men were dressed in dark blue suits. The man dancing had dark blonde hair and dark brown eyes. He was dancing in a unique position. He was kneeling, but he was also leaning back. His right hand was on the floor supporting his body and his left was turned up like he was admiring a flower. He was moving slowly and softly. The violinist had jet black hair like a raven. His eyes were almost pitch black. As I gazed into the dark abyss of his eyes; a black hole, consuming me. His playing was so slow that it was the world moved slower as if in slow motion. The music and dancing synched in a way that made me forget where I was. As I started to walk into the room, they disappeared before I could even make a move. I stared in shock. They just disappeared into thin air! The violin stopped playing and it was silent. This didn't make sense, 'cause how could something so clear just disappear. I walked around the parlor trying to find something left by the people, proving what I saw was real.

For the rest of the night, I explored the house. It all looked the same with the dirty walls. A lot of the rooms were also empty or had little furniture. Who wanted to live in a house this large? I was lucky to find my way around. Finally, I discovered the master bedroom. It was giant. It felt like a whole house. There was a bedroom, living room, mini kitchen, and bathroom. I look in the mini kitchen for food but nothing was there. I did see a kitchen on the first floor but didn't look for food because I was exhausted. I climbed into bed so I could get some rest. I wasn't going to spend lots of time here. As I lay there, I was troubled by the people in the parlor. My mind was spinning with questions! How did they disappear into thin air? Who were those people? Are there more in the house? It didn't make sense. I'm used to reading about the supernatural, but it was never real. So how is it possible or am I just dreaming? I feel like I'm in a dream. Nothing around here feels real. I kept telling myself there was a valid answer to this house.
In the morning, the sun shone through the window curtains. I opened my eyes and the sunlight blinded me. When I got up, for a moment I forgot where I was. I did remember where I was but the place didn't feel real. The bedroom seemed to change too. It was smaller than what I remember. Was I there? I felt a familiar pang of hunger, not remembering when I last ate. I got dressed and I made my way downstairs coming to a sudden stop. In front of me stood a man with black-brown hair staring at a statue. The statue was on the stairs between me and the man. I opened my mouth to speak, but before I uttered a word he looked directly into my eyes and disappeared.

I knew where the kitchen and dining hall were located from my wandering the night before. I didn't look in the rooms on the way to the dining hall because it seemed like a waste of time then. Now I have to look in the rooms for anything suspicious. I peeked into the rooms to see if I could find anyone or anything. The rooms were empty. As I approached the last room before the dining hall, I saw the door was open. Inside sat a man with ashy-colored hair and light hazel eyes. He was seated in a velvety chair looking at the ground. Dust was floating around him, but he didn't seem to be bothered by it. The sunlight also was different from when I woke up. I didn't want him to disappear like the others so I walked away. I entered the dining hall to find a similar blonde looking out the window. His hair was a lighter blonde than I remember. I don't think it was the same person because the man here has a lighter shade of brown eyes. He was leaning against the window frame. He had a red diamond in his hand. Red diamonds are not real, right? He held a red diamond up to the window. The sun caught the diamond and caused it to glow immensely. The man's eye changed colors, then just vanished. I couldn't understand what was going on. That's four people that have disappeared in 24 hours! What is going on with this place?
I didn't find good food in the kitchen. Most of it was spoiled or rodents had eaten most of it. I wandered around the kitchen trying to find something to eat. When I walked back to the dining hall there was a whole breakfast setup. Sausage, eggs, bacon, and hash browns were all placed on the table. It smelled amazing! The bacon was making me drool. I was drawn to the food without question. I was starving! After breakfast, I went back to check on the ashy-haired guy. I was curious if he stayed because I tried to not let him disappear. I looked in the room and saw someone else. HE DISAPPEARED! REALLY?! This new guy had reddish-brown hair and he was holding a cracked mirror. I wonder how the mirror broke? Like the rest of the people, he disappeared suddenly. I thought I could be hallucinating, but it was all too real to be a hallucination.
May 29 Present
I was walking around the house trying to find them. I need to know who they are and what they are doing. I entered another living room on the second floor. This room felt different from everywhere else. Something told me they are in here, so I started looking for clues. I couldn't find anything! I walked to the window just to look outside and take a break. Outside! The men are outside! 1...2...3...4...5...6? Six people! As I looked out, the blonde guy from yesterday climbed up everyone and reached the sky. His hand twisted and all of a sudden the sky turned into twilight. They froze there for a minute before he jumped down. BOOM! The sky didn't change back... I began to panic and ran to the master bedroom. I gathered all of my stuff and bolted out. While running through the house, the song played throughout the house. The people were appearing and disappearing. Their eyes have a shade of red or a blank stare. I ran out of the house and to the town near the house. The house disappeared and no one could remember it existing. Everything about the story of the house and the meaning behind the song just vanished. I was the only one to remember everything, but something didn't feel right. How did I remember when I kept forgetting where I was in the house and why I was there?
