I remember the first time I met her. I traveled with my family and soccer team to go play in a beach tournament. At first I planned to go visit places with my family and play ball that Saturday. Nothing ever goes as planned though since the weather took a turn for the worst and the tournament was canceled.
The first night there I remember drinking a lot and sending videos to my teammates through our group chat on snap. I've always been a wild one and taking shots that night didn't surprise them. I remember talking with everyone that night before going to bed after 25 shots of Malibu.
I had a messed up dream that night, though I can't recall exactly what it was, but it caused me to wake up at 5:30 that morning. The great thing about drinking only water is that I never wake up with a hangover. Since no one was awake I went down to the gym in our condo. Working out always helped me clear my mind and the shitty weather was almost relaxing.
I workout for hours and when I checked my phone I realized my teammate Becca was calling me. I answered kind of surprised to see her calling and asked her what was up. She told me everyone was over at the condo her and Lily's moms got together and wanted me to come over. I laughed and told her I would be over after I took a shower.
I walked back up to our condo and told my mom what Becca had said. At first she was a little upset that I wouldn't be spending time with the family but she understood that I need time with them. After I took a shower my mom drove down the beach side until we arrived at the address Becca sent. I asked my mom if she wanted to meet Becca's mom or even Lily's mom but she said she was okay.
I nodded and told her I loved and sent Becca a text telling her I was here. Becca texted back and told me to just walk in which I proceeded to do. I walked up the stair and heard all the girls laughing which brought a smile to my face. These girls had been my teammates for three years now and we're honestly closer to me then my own friends I'd known for forever.
I opened the door and was immediately tackled by Lily. I laughed and hugged her back. I smiled and greeted everyone honestly happy to see them. I saw Alex sitting on one of the bunk beds by Courtney and Marissa was on her phone looking angry. I looked around for the others and Becca before I asked Lily where they were. She told me that some of the younger girls didn't come and wanted to spend time with their families.
I honestly didn't mind that because they haven't been with us that long. She then told me Becca was changing into her bathing suit in the bathroom with her best friend. I looked at Lily shocked. I didn't know Becca had anyone she was that close to and I realized maybe I didn't know the girls as well as I thought. Lily took me by the hand and led me to the bed.
We both sat down and Alex asked me if I was feeling hung over. Courtney laughed saying I don't get hungover and reminded us of when we played a game after my prom when I had no sleep and had been partying all night. Everyone laughed including me. The thing is everyone else on the team went to the same school I on the other hand went to a different school twenty minutes away.
We were all laughing and having fun when the door opened. Becca walked in and smiled at me. Then I noticed someone walk in behind Becca. She walked in front of Becca and that was the first time I saw her.
