(Cathy's pov)
We're all sat at the table. Waiting for Anne and Kat to arrive. Small conversation is made. I smile as I see Anne enter the room, Kat follows behind her. Anne sits down next to Kat and Jane places a plate of food in front of the woman. She looks at it and then back at her phone. Jane sighs and gives the rest of us our food. Catherine and Jane converse between themselves, me and Anna talk, Anne stares at her phone and occasionally takes small bites of food and Kat wolfs hers down and starts talking with me and Anna. After the meal I thank Jane, like the others, but Anne just walks off with Kat behind. Kat seems like the only person Anne will talk to which makes sense. She's her cousin and she, presumably, has the same scar as Anne.
I make my way up the stairs a little after Anne and Kat. My room is all the way at the end of the hallway, seen as I'm the last wife it makes sense. I push my door open and an Autumnal smell hits me in the face. I feel drawn to Anne, as if I need to see her, but I understand how hard it must be for her. I let Jane's words sink in when she had told me and I'm going to give Anne space until she feels like she wants to talk to me. I sit at my bluish-grey coloured desk and look at my notebook and pen. My imagination has the ability to run as far and wild as it may please. I'm obsessed with writing, just as I was in the 1500's.
(Anne's pov)
When I enter my room I lie down on my bed, Kat lays next to me. I smile at her and she gasps.
"Why are you smiling? You haven't smiled in like...forever!" She says giddily and I chuckle at the teen. I'm not really sure why I'm smiling. I think...Cathy...yeah that sounds right, I think Cathy has something to do with it. I feel drawn to her but if I talk to her or get remotely close she'll leave me. I just know it.
"I'm not so sure kitty." I tell her and she groans.
"You must know." I shake my head. It has to be something to do with Cathy. I get off my bed and go to leave the room.
"Where are you going and why?" Kat asks me and I chuckle once more at the girl.
"Just out." And with that I open the door and step out into the, surprisingly, cold hallway.I step quietly, not to alert anyone that I'm here. I peep downstairs and see that Cathy isn't where she was last. I climb back up the few stairs I went down and walk to the end of the Hallway. I approach the door with the letter 'P' on in metallic blue and raise my hand to knock. My knuckles and the door collide a few times and after a short while Cathy opens the door.
"Oh. Hi Anne." She says and smiles at me. I can feel my face heat up when she does so.
"Need anything orrr.....?" She asks me and I nod. I step into her room, the smell of Autumnal roasted nuts fills my nose and I smile at the sweet smell."Hi." I say softly and quietly, almost a whisper. Cathy smiles and says hi back. I stare at her for a moment too long as she waves her hand in front of me. I can feel myself blush a little.
"So, I need to talk to you." I tell her, in an even softer and quieter tone than before. She nods her head and I sit myself on the end of her bed, she's still stood by the door. I carefully phrase my words so that it doesn't sound like I have a crush on her.
"I was wondering if...maybe..." I take a deep breath and sharply exhale. "Maybe you'd like to be my friend?" I ask and Cathy's face lights up. I can't believe I just asked her that.
"I'd be an idiot to turn you down." She says and I smile. I stand up and leave her room, waving goodbye as I leave.I run back to mine, happiness filling my entire body, I haven't felt like this since about a year before I died. I fling my bedroom door open and see Kat perched on the end of my bed. She looks at me confused and I giggle back.
"What's made you so happy?" She asks and I giggle at her again.
"Cathy's my friend!!!!!!!" I shout excitedly at her, she smiles back. The sun's beginning to go down and my room is gradually getting darker. I sit at my desk with the lamp on, working on an art piece. It's around 10pm, way past Kat's bedtime. Jane, being our eldest cousin, makes Kat go to bed at 9'o'clock every night. I personally don't agree with bed times. Maybe because my parents never actually cared to set me a bed time and let me face the consequences like the gReAt PaReNtS they were. I close my eyes for a moment, when I open them I look at my phone, the time reads 1:00. Shit! I'm trying to get earlier nights. I move my chair away from the desk, causing a creak. I flick the switch to turn the lamp off. I just sit there momentarily in the dark before standing up. and tucking my chair in quietly.Just as I'm getting dressed I hear soft creaking from the hallway. Then footsteps going down the stairs, hurriedly I pull my top on and open my door. I see the back of someone going downstairs. The shape of the figure isn't one I'm used to. I walk towards whoever this may be, quietly as to not draw attention to myself. I peer round the corner just as the person reaches the bottom of the stairs. Cathy? It is Cathy. I move downstairs, softly touching the stairs and avoiding all the creaking stairs. I make it down and push the kitchen door open, there Cathy is making a coffee. I hide back round the corner of the door frame. Cathy finishes pouring the coffee into a mug and goes to go back up the stairs. I open the door fully and am met face to face with her. She jumps a little, all her coffee staying in it's assigned mug.
"Anne?" She asks and I just giggle nervously.
"Cathy...what are you doing up at one am?" I ask quietly and she shrugs.
"Writers block. It's annoying as all hell." I notice the bags under her eyes forming, they aren't very big but if she stays up all night they're gonna get huge.
"What are YOU doing up?" She asks. Good question actually.
"I fell asleep at my desk, drawing. Then I woke up and got changed, then I heard you coming downstairs." I tell her. She smiles and waves me goodbye as she walks up the stairs. I follow after her. She returns back to her room and me to mine. I turn on my nightlight and get comfy in bed. I sigh as I close my eyes and my head hits my pillow. I instantly pass out.
