"I'm not sure what that is, sweetie."

I frowned. What does NSP mean?

"I'm sure it means nice, safe space. That Mark boy has always been such a gentleman. You can go as long as you don't get into any trouble."

I laughed internally. Mark. Gentleman? Those two don't mix. Mark is the kind of guy to leave girls chained in his basement just so he can force them to take his cock when he's horny. I wouldn't doubt if he really does.  But I didn't tell my mom that.

I needed to be social and I wanted to try and make a friend or two. I moved two months ago and still haven't made one friend. My anxiety is so bad but I need to get used to a social setting if I'm going to make it though junior and senior year.

"Okay, I'll go. I only live once, after all."

"That's the spirit! Have fun!"

I smiled and walked back to my room. I threw on a sweater, jeans, and sneakers before brushing my hair and putting my glasses back on.

"Ok, bye mom. I'll see you later."

You could imagine the shock on my face when I found out that NSP meant the opposite of "nice, safe space".
