Rainy City-A Christmas Season Love Story

There once was a young couple, they lived in the city and would often go on late night walks together. This story takes place during wintertime in December. While the couple was out on their usual late-night city walk, The woman; Mary had dropped her new bag into a wet cold puddle. This was very unfortunate because this bag was NOT waterproof… Even though she could have maybe grabbed it a car came rushing by and ran over the purse! “Oh, dear!” she shouted. The man; Philip mentioned that “the bag isn’t even that pretty, it clashed with your outfit anyways.” In such shock and sadness, the woman grabbed her coat from the “man’s” arm and ran off. She was so upset at how careless he was. Her mother just gave her that bag before she had passed, and now the purse is ruined. While the woman was walking down the street she came across a store and in the window was the same bag on sale for Christmas! She rushed inside when she realized she didn’t have her wallet. When she looked up she was in such disbelief that her husband,  Philip, was at the counter already checking out with, could it have been? The purse! She rushed over to him and repetitively mentioned how sorry she was for running off and getting so upset. She remembered about her wallet and once again was blue. As Philip noticed her sorrow he decided that they should finish their walk, although Mary did not know that this was no ordinary walk like the others. As she and he stepped outside there was a carriage, it looked so magical all lit up and sparkling. Mary gave him a warm smile and suddenly everything just seemed warmer after finally  seeing Mary smile since her mothers passing. Philip was filled with joy and happiness. Philip didn’t even think to tell Mary that this was not their ride after seeing how happy she was. As they rode along in the carriage the original owners were chasing behind with police cars! “Oh, dear…” Philip thought. Mary asked, “why are those people shouting at us, darling?”. “Oh, it’s nothing no need to worry but we should continue home before it gets too late”. As the two walked home they suddenly heard the lovely sound of Christmas music. They noticed that further down the street there was a band playing “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.” “Oh, look Philip!” Mary said excitedly. “They’re playing our favorite Christmas song!!”. “Why isn’t this just lovely Mary?”. They both hold each other close and close their eyes and sway back and forth to the melody. What a lovely season after all.
