I was walking down the street after a long day at work. It had stormed all night and day. Yes, I work the night and day shift, so basically I work the whole day pretty much. Only once a week though. Anyway I was walking down a street and took a turn into an alleyway. There was a whole bunch of people in white hoods with "blood" splattered all over them. Obviously it was fake blood but you get the point. I continued to venture forward and saw a strange symbol on the wall. It was the proxy sign but crossed out in red paint. The people in white hoodies were gathered around a fire. They occasionally threw a piece of newspaper in the fire. They stood there motionless a mumbled quietly. I could barely make out what they were saying, but it sounded like a different language. Was it a cult, I thought. I should probably get out of here if so, I thought. I couldn't stop staring though. Strangely it was like being hypnotized. The fire moved in such a delicate way it memorized me. One of them looked up and grinned. "You lost?" said a female voice. "No just heading home with a friend." I said knowing I was alone. "Who's your friend." she said. "U-um..Nina!" I said a little too loudly. Her smile grew bigger. "That's my name." She said innocently. I stuttered on accident and gulped. "O-Oh what a coincidence." I said. She laughed "Your on your own aren't you?" she giggled. "I turned away and walked too fast towards my car. She followed me, until a police officer stopped her and asked her why they were burning in a public alleyway. There was silence. Then a thump. As I drove away the police officers dead body laid on the sidewalk.
3:00
I arrived home and locked my doors. I made me a microwave dinner. Then went to bed and turned the TV on. The news appeared on the screen, and it was a report about a murder that happened in the alleyway. Next to my work. I watched the report until it was old news. I turned sideways and checked the time. It was 3:00 a.m. I decided to try and sleep
I awoke with a start when heard a door shut. It was my closet door. I was frozen in fear. Time stopped. I got up and grabbed the nail file I had on the nightstand. I headed to the closet door and yanked it open. I saw..... a tall man in a white hoodie staring down at me. She had disgusting slits in his mouth. He had blood and flesh exposed around his eyes. He was covered it blood and smelled like a dead animal. He pulled a blade out of his back pocket and held it above me. He whispered in a raspy voice, "Go to sleep." Without thinking I rammed the nail file into his ribs. He grunted and kicked me on the floor. He pulled the nail file out of my hand as I fell. I landed with a thud. He grinned and walked towards me. I crawled back. He followed until I hit the wall behind me. He held the blade above my head once again. "Why me?!" I yelled. He laughed "Because I heard your name in a conversation in the alleyway." He said "What's my name then?!" I yelled "Aaron." He said simply. As I felt a sharp pain in my chest.
The end.
