"We loved together, we laughed together. Heck, we even did some insanely stupid things together! And now here we are, graduating together. I want to thank all of you, my peers, for being with me every step of the way, and also our teachers, who guided us up the path to adulthood. Youth is a blessing, and I'm glad to have spent mine with you guys. May we all fly high."

Slowly, the hall filled with the sound of many hands clapping. People cheered, catcalled and whistled, a lot of them with tears in their eyes. They were graduating.

In the midst of it all, y/n sat unmoving. Head bent, tears were silently trickling down her cheeks. She wasn't much close to anyone, but she had spent the past three years among her peers. She felt an arm around her shoulder, and looked up to see Aya Suzuki, the class rep. She was smiling, eyes filled with tears of her own.

"We're graduating, huh? Feels like just yesterday when you came up to me to ask about our homework." Aya sniffled.

"You still remember that? That was so long ago..." y/n murmured.

"You know, even though we weren't close, I'm glad to have been in the same class as you this year." Aya smiled. Suddenly, she burst into tears and hugged y/n. Surprised, y/n returned the hug and patted her back. Aya sobbed into y/n's shirt.

"Honestly, I really regret not making friends with you before." She sniffled.

"Same here." y/n said wistfully. "If only I'd made an effort to get along better with everyone..."

"Maybe we can still be friends now... Can you give me your Line?" Aya asked, hopeful.

"Of course." y/n smiled.

Over the next hour, farewells were made, cantact info was exchanged, and pictures were taken. y/n was swept up by the rush of it all. She laughed with classmates who she used to find intimidating, and even kissed Tsubaki on the cheek. Tsubaki went bright red, setting off a lot of catcalls.

"Look, Tsubaki and y/n have been partnering up for projects ever since they were in the same class, and now they're kissing! It's true love!" People teased.

When it all ended, y/n took the train home, exhausted and craving food. She stopped by the convenience store to get fried chicken, and while waiting for the food, she checked her phone. Tons of classmates she'd just added on Line had sent her messages. She sighed. She'd reply later.

Right before turning off her phone, a notification caught her eye. It had been buried by all the other texts.

[Ran] sent a message. Swipe up to see more

huh? Ran?  y/n wasn't sure if she needed to check her eyesight at the doctor's or not. To be fair though, nowadays her vision was getting worse. She rubbed her eyes. Nope, definetely Ran.

Didn't he say he wouldn't text me?

Why the fuck is he texting?

Heart racing, y/n hesitantly swiped up. The screen flashed, then went onto messages.

[Ran]: I'm back

y/n quickly replied, thumbs flyyng across the keyboard.

Where are you (^)
Seen

...

Oh god, he'd seen the text already. y/n's heart thumped faster with each passing second.

[Ran]: Just got out of shower. I don't like your choice of shampoo though. Smells too perfumey.

y/n's face went slack. Ran was already at the new apartment. How was she going to face him?
