I sometimes question why I was chosen to become a Guardian, to protect the Last City on Earth. So much happen in the past few months, it felt like it's been much longer like 2 years or so. Ghost did say that I was going to see a lot of things I won't understand. I've been asked by citizens from time to time to tell stories of what I've seen, where I've been and what I've done. I guess it's because I'm a Hunter and they usually have the most interesting stories.

There's always something new to find outside the walls, from relics of the Golden Age, to engrams, and even-if you're lucky-old but powerful weapons and/or armor, but that's a story for another time. What I'm about to tell you is my best story; one that I never told anyone, not even my fellow Guardians or the Speaker himself, but my instincts tell me that now is the time for my story to be told.

At first there was nothing, literally just nothing but darkness, and then out of nowhere, there was a small floating blue orb in the distance, so my first thought was to approach it. As I got closer, it slowly grew brighter and brighter and when I got very close I heard a voice that said, "There you are," followed by the orb shrinking into a tiny ball, then expanding and engulfed me inside it.

Everything suddenly turned black again but it started to feel cold and I heard that voice again, "Guardian...." Who is this Guardian? Was this Guardian me? I don't remember being a Guardian for anything. "Guardian?" The voiced continued, "Eyes up Guardian!" I was slowly starting to see things now, dead grass, snow, dirt and old rusty cars. But what stood out the most was the giant wall that stretched out for miles and the small floating object in front of me. It looked like an inside out cube with a little blue light shaped like a diamond in the middle. "You're alive!" I was a bit surprised that the voice came from the floating object, especially that it was feminine.

"I hope you rested well," she said. "Who are you?" I asked. "You can call me Ghost, I'm your Ghost now and you have been chosen to be reborn as a Guardian, a protector of the last safe city on Earth." What she told me caught me by complete surprise. As I looked around, there were rusty cars on a broken highway that went on as far as the eye can see. I suppose that's why she said she hope I slept well, it must've been centuries, even a millennia or two.

When I looked at myself, I saw I was wearing armor that's I've never seen before, with what looks like a holster knife on my belt area. I'm assuming this is armor was given to me by my Ghost when she revived me.

"I'm so confused." I said, and then Ghost replied, "Well you're going to see things you won't understand immediately, so for now let's take things slow."

As soon as she finished her sentence, I heard a metallic howl off in the distance and I saw Ghost shiver from the howl, "Oh no, they're closer than I thought," She said and from the way she said that its like she was in a hurry. "Listen, we are in Fallen territory. I promise I'll explain soon, but for now we gotta move." She quickly rushed to me and disappeared. I looked around to see where she went, but then I remembered I needed to get moving so I started running to the wall without hesitation.
