"You forgot?" (Y/N) was surprised not that Venti didn't learn how to but forgot.

"Well you see you go a couple centuries without reading a book and wandering around free spirited you tend to not focus on the squiggly things around you as much since you become so familiar with everything that you don't really need them. And then the writing system changes over time to the point you don't understand it anymore from what it was a long time ago." Venti rubbed the back of his head.

"Master, do you want me to reteach you?" (Y/N) offered.

"No, I've been getting along quite fine without it. Not to say I'm illiterate, I still can read old scriptures and dialect, just you know kids these days changing up the writing."

"ok, don't be afraid to ask me though, it shouldn't be to hard. After all time is on your side, master"

"A lesson from my puppy how could I resist, but alas a master must teach his pup not the other way around." Venti said cockily.

"Anyway who taught you to read." Venti asked.

"A good friend a long time ago..." The boy answered.

Venti noticed his indirectness but decided to move on.

"oh yeah that's right. I have a task I was planning on bringing you along for." Venti said.

"What is it?"

"Well i need you to read some quest postings for me."

The boy and the bard were looking at the quest posting board looking through all kinds of adventures.

(Y/N) Looked for easy ones because he wasn't sure of how ready they were yet.

"Here about this one, it looks my skill level." Venti showed a posting with a big scary monster on it.

"Oh Uhm. It says it for beginners" the boy lied to get out of that.

"Ah really? That's too bad" the Bard sighed then crumpled it up.

"Here what about this one it says it's medium." The boy showed the Bard a posting about a few slimes outside Mondstadt. The boy was obviously lying about the true difficulty of the quest as it was considered super easy for adventurers.

"Hmm" the Bard said skeptically rubbing his chin.

'Please fall for it...•́ε•̀٥' the boy thought.

"Meh I prefer high difficulty." Venti dismissed.

"Uh did I say medium I meant extreme." The boy quickly lied again nervously.

"Well what are you waiting for let's go then!" Venti grabbed the posting and (Y/N)'s hand running to the gates.

*Outer Mondstadt Valley*

"There they are, master" the boy pointed at the 3 slimes.

"You sure this is the place?" Venti asked.

"Yup. ( ・ั﹏・ั)"

"•̀.̫•́✧alright then let's kick ass. Here" the Bard passed the boy a mop.

"Uh why this?" The boy asked.

"Well I don't know what humans fight with. They tend to be weak anyway." Venti condescended accidentally.

"I see." The boy sadly looked at the mop.

"Oh uh no offense intended. But you stay here and I'll show you how it's done and maybe one day you'll be able to do the same." Venti patted (Y/N)'s head reassurinngly.
