2. What a drag

Quick A/N; There might be typos, I didn't thoroughly check

Around the room partners were chatting quietly among themselves, discussing the questions on the worksheets and even baby names. Then, there was Shikamaru and I. Completely silent as we worked diligently on our papers. Occasionally I stole glances at Sakura who was pestering Sasuke about what to name theirs. He looked as if he would do anything to get her to shut up and I saw him do his famous sigh of annoyance before saying one word that made my pink-haired best friend fall silent. I almost smirked to myself, thinking about what he could have possibly said but she perked right back up and nodded in agreement with a smile.
And, they just decided on a baby name. Wonderful. I glared daggers at the pair and Shikamaru came into focus and blocked my view. He looked over at me with an eyebrow raised.
"How long are you going to mope about not being paired with Sasuke?" He asked, sitting comfortably in his chair with his arms folded behind his head. I pursed my lips and jerked my head to the side, looking away from him with my arms crossed over my chest. He expelled a frustrated noise and I could hear him shift positions. I looked out of the corner of my eye and felt my chest tighten making it hard to breathe, seeing he was closer than before with his hand lazily supporting his head. He looked at me with careful eyes, still wearing his signature expression as if he wasn't interested, which he totally is no matter how much he'd deny it. No one can simply resist Yamanaka Ino! Though, I kind of wished he would stop looking at me so contently when we drive each other crazy. I did my best to suppress a blush under his scrutinizing gaze. I inhaled lightly, getting myself back together.
"See something you like, Nara?" I quipped, half of my lips lifting into a smug smile. He simply rolled his eyes. "Oh, yeah. That zit on your face really compliments your eyes."
He remarked and copied my movement. My eyes widened and I had the instinct to feel for the zit. He had to be bluffing, right? There's no way I could have one an if I did I certainly would've covered it!
"You really know how to make a girl feel special." I added with thick sarcasm.
"I know. I can make a girl feel plenty more special than that Uchiha." He responded and I groaned. He never gives it a rest!
"Are you, perhaps, jealous, Shikamaru-kun?" I said sweetly, taunting him and even twirling my blonde ponytail with my finger.
"Of him? As if." He claimed. I almost didn't believe him. He didn't really have anything to be jealous of with Sasuke. Shikamaru didn't strike me as the kind of guy who would want to be swarmed with female attention, he probably think it was a 'drag', and he certainly didn't need to be jealous of Sasuke's academic abilities. Shikamaru, though I very much dislike him, was one of the smartest boys in our entire class.
"So, are we going to name this child or what?" He asked, finally changing the subject. I noticed he shifted farther away from me and felt a weight lifted off my chest, making it a lot easier to breathe.
"I think we should name her Kanya." I stated simply, glancing at the doll that laid untouched on our table. Shikamaru squinted his eyes at our 'baby' before he chimed in. "I think Kamiko would be more suiting." He suggested. I looked over at him and he raised an eyebrow questionably.
"Listen here, Nara. As long as we're partners you have to follow everything I say, and I say we name her Kanya." I demanded calmly in an attempt to avoid disrupting class.
"Whatever. I was just suggesting." He said, rolling his eyes. I scoffed, placing my hands on my hips.
"Is that an attitude I'm sensing?" I questioned rhetorically, narrowing my eyes.
"This is such a drag."

A/N; I really wanted to go on with this chapter but I think I'll end it there because I'm not sure how to continue on. Sorry this chapter was boring oops I'll try to make it better when I update
(Which who knows when that is because writer's block is such a bitch)
