My name is (y/n) (l/n). I am 24 years old. I am originally from the United States. But I moved to Britain to start an new life and get away from my toxic family and friends. Especially my mother. She is a great mother sometimes, but others she's strung out on drugs and abusive. Once I got enough money and courage I ran away leaving a note to her saying, "Have fun trying to find me." The only way she could ever find me is if she sobers up and gets enough money to fly across the world. But enough about her. Im here on the outskirts of Britain heading to the home of my new employer's. The Heelshire's. Im here to look after their son Brahms while they head of on a business trip for a few days. As soon as I arrive at the house there's a kind looking man at the door waiting for me. He introduces himself as Mr. Heelshire the boys father. Might I say though he looks a little old to be the father of an eight year old boy. But I'm not one to judge.
He walks to the trunk of the cab and says; "You must be (y/n), please let me bring theses inside for you." He reaches for my bags and I try to stop him. "Oh no, thank you but there I no need, I mean no offense but you do seem to be quite into your years and I do not want you to hurt yourself for me Sir." After my protest he just looks at me and smiles; "I may be quite the old man but I assure you, I can handle a few bags, anything for such a sweet person as yourself." I give in and allow him to bring the bags inside. After walking inside he calls for his wife, announcing to her "Darling! Please come down stairs and greet Mx. (y/n)! Their here to take care of our little Brahms." While he's talking I take a look around the foyer. It it looks a lot better than I expected considering the outside of the house looked abandoned. The walls had old fashioned wallpaper and it was decorated with the same style of furniture. I didn't have a very good eye for beauty and such but there was just something about this home that had an amazing feel to it. It was so beautiful I was stuck staring at the walls and didn't hear Mrs. Heelshire descend down the stairs to meet us. When I finally saw her she looked at me with a questioning face of sorts. I blushed embarrassed that I had zoned out looking at the walls. "My apologies Mrs. Heelshire, it's just I've honestly never seen such an amazing home before, you are truly blessed to live here." I say giving her an apologetic smile. She gave a shocked face for a moment but then it turned into a smile. "Why thank you Mx. (y/n). Many people of your age do not have an eye for the vintage." I reply with just a nod. He husband walks over to her and kisses her cheek sweetly. "You two are such a wonderful couple, I bet your son I just an angel." I say. I look to them and they have a sort of apologetic look on their faces. "Speeking of Brahms, shall we go get him?" Mr. Heelshire questions towards me. "I guess so, it would be nice to meet him before you two must leave." Mr. Heelshire nods to his wife and she heads back up the stairs. We talk while we wait and soon Mrs. Heelshire returns. I look towards her expecting to see a little boy trailing behind her. But thats not at all what I see. When Mrs. Heelshire reaches the bottom of the stairs he husband walks to her side and joins her as she steps towards me. "Mx. (y/n), Im terribly sorry that we did not inform you but. Our real Brahms died in a fire at the age of eight. We have been taking care of this doll since then as a way to mourn him. We hope you will take care of him just as we have for all of these years." Mr. Heelshire explains. I look at his wife as she looks sadly at the doll. I reassure myself and smile at him. "Of course Mr. Heelshire, I would never want anything bad to happen to your soon. It is now my job to make sure he is taken care of properly whilst you two are away." Mrs. Heelshire looks at me as if she had just met an angel. She walks over to me slowly pulling brahms away from her. She looks at me nodding. I stretch out my arms and hold Brahms gently. I look down at him smiling sadly. "Hello Brahms , Im (y/n). Im here to look after you while your mother and father are away okay? I do hope we can get along." Mr. Heelshire walks over and hands me a slip of paper labeled "Rules". "These are the rules for looking after Brahms, you must follow each and every one or else you will upset Brahms. I know it is sudden but my wife and I must be going now Mx. (y/n). Please take good care of Brahms." I smile at him and he gives me and Brahms a hug. He walks to the door and turns around waiting for his wife. She comes and gives us a hug as well, but she whispered to me before letting go "Im so sorry." I have no clue of what she means and just smile at her. They get into the cab and drive off leaving me and Brahms the doll all alone in this beautiful house....
