Cossett and I were driving home. We had just spent a majority of time in town. We went shopping, and went out to eat. It was extremely fun. We were in his truck, heading back to his house. There was a huge tension in the car ride back. Cossett stepped on his break gently and pulled into his driveway. It was getting dark now, black started to bleed into the blue-pink sky like ink. The air became chill, and it rested on my skin as I got out of the car. Cossett got out too and started walking towards the back of his house.

"Follow me." He said.

I started following him, "Where are we going?" I asked.

"You'll see." He replied.

I followed him and we stopped near a ladder propped on the side of his house. He climbed up first, and I followed soon after. I saw a beautiful sunset once I got to the top. What you usually couldn't see due to all the trees, was in plain sight. Cossett planted himself on the roof, and I saw next to him, hugging my knees.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" He asked.

"Yeah.. this is a really good view," I replied, "You don't seem like the type of guy to be into this stuff."

"I'm into a lot of things you think I wouldn't like." He responded, jokingly.

We watched the sun slowly sink below the hillside, and the sky went from purple to black. It had gotten so cold I could start to see my breath in the air.

"Hey Timmy.." I heard Cossett say.

I looked over at Cossett and he was closer to me than I remembered. He was looking down at me, his breath entering the air like smoke.

"Yeah Cossett?" I asked.

We sat staring at each other, and that feeling came back into my stomach. Was this really happening? I cupped Cossett's face in my cold hands and slowly pulled his face closer to mine. I got a glimpse of his brown eyes before I put my lips against his. The kiss was short and sweet, Cossett pulled away before I could even think about what I just did. We just sat there in silence, not knowing what to say.

"Uhh.." He said, "I think we should get you home."

"Yeah.." I replied, "Good idea."

We climbed off of the roof and piled into Cossett's car, and he drove me home during the most awkward car ride ever. Did that just actually happen?
