Chapter ⑤: The gift

Lucy's POV

Me and Natsu had just picked and after school club, the magic club. I've always wanted to try some celestial magic and Natsu's been telling me about this fire magic.

We start our club tomorrow.

I'm walking happily home, Natsu right next to me, because he still lives with me. I've made space in my home for Natsu to have his own bedroom.

He smiles at me and I smile back. I look away a little, blushing. Natsu then asks me something.

"Hey Luce, I wanna do something fun with you on Saturday. Just you and me. Maybe like a 'date'. You wanna go?" He asked calmly blushing a tint of red on his cheeks. I start blushing as well. A-a date?! Is he asking me out on one? I ask myself.

"S-sure Natsu." I nervously answer. He smiles and looks away still blushing. We don't really say anything to each other till we got home.

I entered my house, ran up to my room, and shuffled through my closet. Natsu stared at me confused. I finally found what I was looking for in my closet, a box with a pink bow on it. I got it on my birthday, which was 3 months ago. I haven't opened the gift yet, and the gift was from Natsu. As I was about to unwrap the box, I heard three knocks on my room door.

"Uh, Luce? What are you doing in there?" I heard Natsu ask from behind the door.

"N-nothing Natsu! Now, go back downstairs!" I yell. I could tell that he left because I heard his footsteps going down the stairs. Once he was gone, I slowly started to open the box.

I took off the pink bow and set it beside me. I looked at the box. It had cats on them. I tried to slowly take that out as well. I was able to open the box.

I opened the box and inside was a cute tank top, a keychain with a little blue cat on it, and, a note. Once I took everything out, I picked up the note.

"Dear Luce,
I've been really nervous to say this to you in person but, I like you, a lot. If you don't feel the same way about me, I understand. I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Sincerely,
Natsu Dragneel." I read the note in my head. My heart almost skipped a beat while I read this.

H-he likes me?! He really does?! I kept staring at the note. I then heard some more knocks on my door.

"Luce! C'mon out of there! I'm getting really bored here!" He shouts from the other side of the door. I stash everything I took out of my closet back in my closet and opened my room door.

"Sorry I made you wait." I said blushing. He started to blush as well. My thoughts were still kept on the note. D-did he really mean what he said in the note?! That question kept running through my mind as I was with Natsu.

- Time skip, Saturday -

Today is the day I have that 'date' with Natsu! Me and Natsu already started learning magic that we anted to learn in the magic club. Natsu's learning fire dragon slayer magic and I'm learning celestial magic. I get to summon celestial spirits, but I have to have contracts with them!

I focus on putting on my makeup, and to pick out something casual to wear. I decide to summon one of my spirits, Virgo.

"Open! Gate of the maiden! Virgo!" I yell. Virgo appears before me and takes some denim-jeans and a cute tank top for me to wear.

"There you go, Princess. Will that be all?" She asks so politely. I nod and she disappears. I finish my makeup, put my clothes on, and rushed downstairs. I see Natsu waiting for me on the couch.

"Ya ready Luce?" He asks. I smile and walk towards him. I'm so close to him right now! I said in my head screeching a little. He grabs a hold of my hand and takes me to this Japanese sushi place. When we get inside, I loved all the artwork on the walls. We sit at a table and order our food.

"Natsu, why'd we come here? Not that I love it here." I said. He looks at me blushing a little.

"W-well, after we ate, I-I wanted to tell you something, important!" He widely grinned. I blushed a little at the thought.

"Like what?" I questioned him.

"You'll find out later!" He smiled. Our food then arrived and we ate.

When we finished our food, Natsu payed the restaurant, grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the restaurant to the park. I was wondering why he brought me to the park.

"Why'd we come here?" I ask. He lets out a sigh.

"I need to tell you something REALLY important!" He said. I nodded and let him speak. Before he spoke, he tightened his grip on my hand.

"L-Luce?" He starts.

"I-I l-love you." He says immediately looking down at the ground. My face turns a dark shade of scarlet red. I try to hide my blush but I couldn't.

"Nat-" I start but something cuts me off. I feel a warm kiss on my lips as I gaze my eyes at Natsu to see him kissing me. I wanted to jerk away but at the same time, I didn't want to. Natsu was the one that jerked away from the kiss.

"Natsu..." I said softly. I was surprised by what he did. I didn't know what to do! We just stood there in silence. Natsu lightened his grip on my hand.

"Luce, can we go home?" He asked. I smiled a little.

"Sure!" I responded. We didn't really hold hands as we were walking home though.

I kept looking up at the sky. The same thought kept going through my head. He kissed me!

A little while later we arrived home. I took out my house key and unlocked the door. Natsu rushed in like he needed something to eat badly. I slowly walked in and walked up to my room. I walked in and plopped myself onto my bed and sighed.

"I think today had to be the best day ever!" I said as I started to get my pjs on. I then heard a knock on my door. I quickly finished putting on my pjs and opened the door.

"Oh, hey Natsu!" I said. He smiled at me.

"Hey! Can I come in?" He asked. I nodded. He walked in and sat on my bed. I sat next to him.

"Um, since I kissed you earlier, y-you wanna be my girlfriend?" He asked me. My cheeks flushed pink.

"Yeah!" I smiled brightly and hugged Natsu tightly. He hugged me back.

Hai guys! I'm so very sry I have not updated! But now that I'm back, I found out that this fanfic has 1.74k reads! Yay go me! I'm only gonna be back for one week tho. At least it's spring break! I'll be working on chapter 6! Bai guys! Pinky out!
