Chapter 10

Just as I thought Aby is definitely hiding something from me. After rushing out of the room that Monday she came back with food, acted weird , finished eating then went home and since that day she and I haven't had a proper conversation or a conversation at all , every time I invite her to come over she comes up with excuses and I couldn't even go to hers seeing that I am still grounded.

And today is Friday , the day to get our result. I usually don't go but today is different because I'm hoping I could catch Aby there and that is if she decides to go, I know how much she hates these kind of days and that is why I am truly praying that she shows up today.

I am desperate, I know for a fact she is avoiding me , I don't even know why and that hurts , she is my best friend after all.

"Avery!! How much more time do you need?" Asks my mom from the living room "I don't want to be late."she adds.
Yep that's my mom for you , she is always early for anything, even though I her no one goes to these things early.

"Here I am"I say after reaching the living room.
"Can you at least try and wear a dress for once? All the dresses I bought have been put away in your closet without even looking at it." She says trying to hide her disappointment and failing miserably.

I don't know why she is always forcing me to wear dresses and skirts , I don't see any problem with my clothes , but I love my clothes. And my mom's constant pestering about wearing dresses is one of the many reasons why I can't wait to get away.

"Mom i don't see anything wrong with what I am wearing , plus I don't like dresses and skirts because they are uncomfortable" I say and turn around to walk out and add under my breath "plus who wants to sit like a lady all the time anyway , I love sitting in any position" but unfortunately for me , she heard it.

"Because you are a lady and that is why you need to sit like one! How many times do I have to tell you this?" She says while looking at me as if I was some sort of an alien.

"Mom we are going to be late." I say hoping she will drop this dress issue and it worked.
"Yes let's go" she says while grabbing her car keys.
We get into the car and she drives off, after fifteen minutes she parks the car at the school parking lot and I am the first to get out.
"Mom go ahead , I will join you in a few minutes." I say not even waiting for her to reply I start rushing in the opposite direction so that she won't get the chance to stop me , because I really need to find Aby , we need to talk.

Walking down the corridor because in days like this most learners chill in classes and that is where I am hopping to find Aby , if she is here there's no way she will go with her mom to get the results.

In my rush to find Aby I bump into someone. "I'm so sorry , I didn't see you" I say and look up to see that it Tyler.
"It's okay Avery" he says with his usual kind smile and I couldn't help but smile back , that's how contagious his smile is.

"Actually it's good that I bumped into you. Do you know where Aby is? I am looking for her , I really need to talk to her." I say hoping he saw her.
"No. I haven't seen her since last weekend and I think she has been ignoring me,because she hasn't replied to my texts or calls." He replies with a sad smile on his face. 'What really happened between them?' I thought , I can't even ask him no matter how much I want to know , that will just be weird.
