"Oh my goodness! Christine! It is you!" Samara said, excitement filling her voice.
The woman hugged her old friend (and the chair she was tied to) tightly. They hadn't seen each other in... Forever. If only it had all been under better circumstances. This... joyful... reunion was interrupted by the front door opening.
"Samara? Are you here?" A voice came from the door.
"Is that..." Christine said her words trailing away.
Samara got up quietly as her husband called again. She walked over to the front door. "Don't worry, I'm here, Ralph. Don't wake up the kids."
Ralph sighed in relief and hugged his wife. "For a minute there, I was worried something bad had happened to you. I heard... voices."
Samara yawned. "No. I was just in the other room with David and Douglas. I didn't want to wake them."
Ralph smiled. "Well, I'm glad that's all it was. What do you say we go get something to eat? I left right after you did, so neither of us got any food."
Samara knew there was no way she could hide Christine and her past lover forever. And as much as she wanted to hide them, she didn't feel like going somewhere else to eat. So she agreed, and prepared to face the worst as they walked into the kitchen.
As Ralph walked into the kitchen and turned in the light, he gasped. "You!"
Everybody gasped.
"You!" exclaimed Samara's past lover.
"Raoul?" asked Christine.
"Raoul?" Samara asked, wondering why Christine would call her husband that.
"Raoul!" Samara's ex-love exclaimed.
"Christine?" Ral-Raoul asked.
"You know each other?" asked Samara.
"It's a long story," said Christine.
"And I won't fail to kill you this time!" Samara's past lover said, lunging at Ralph/Raoul.
Christine gasped helplessly and Samara tried to pry Erik off of her husband. All was chaos in the kitchen.
"Mommy?" a small voice came from the hallway. "What's going on?"
