"Curiosity killed the cat," is a common expression that's weirdly true for a reason. Many times, curiosity does get the better of us, and often (though not always) harms us more than helps us.

If she could turn back time and do this night all over again- she would take it in a heartbeat which wasn't normal for her- as she liked to keep moving forwards onto whatever life had in store for her.

Marley came to the familiar creek and took a deep breath as she slowly- so she didn't twist her ankle again like last year- stepped over each large stone.

"Watch your step," she warned gently when they came to a large boulder. One wrong mis-step and you could twist your ankle, or worse. She turned around to offer him her hand, and was surprised when he floated over. Her surprise only lasted for a moment, before they were going back up and over the familiar hills that gave you the perfect view of the stars and down towards the shadowy forests. Usually left her with a sense of calm. Not tonight however.

"Calm yourself, Human. I already told you that I wouldn't harm you."

'Not helping,' Marley sarcastically thought as they approached the woods. Pulling out her flashlight, she lit their path forwards. When they arrived closer to her house, she could make out her Ex's car. A part of her wanted to run in and simply drive off, but she knew that wasn't the best option to take.

"Hmm...Good, it's secluded and not in the town nearby." he spoke from behind her.

'Dude what the fuck,' she thought, her anxiety skyrocketing again as she fumbled for her keys.

She let out a huff as she opened the door.

"Make yourself at home," she said as she turned on the bright lights. A repeat of what happened with Nathan wasn't what she needed right now. The slight hiss she heard from him

"I'm going to go get you a pillow and a blanket, chill out on the couch for a sec," She stated blankly as she went towards the closet. A sudden slam from the front of the house made her jump as she let out a squeak. Quickly, she returned to the living room.

"Are you trying to give me a heart attack!?" she expressed worriedly, although she quickly followed with " Don't answer that."

Nazo let out a chuckle, and she quickly turned to glare daggers at him. He stared back completely unfazed with that smug look on his face. She turned to focus on the couch. After she'd finished, she'd grabbed the remote and handed it to him. He scared her, and made her uncomfortable.

"If you get bored, there should be plenty of channels for you to watch, also there's enough food in that kitchen to feed a horse, so help yourself to it."

"Thank you for informing me." he responded. Marley gave him a tired smile.

"If you need anything, I'll be taking my shower so be sure to knock extra loud on my bathroom door."

Before he could respond, she walked upstairs to her bathroom. The only thought on her mind was how the hell she was going to get out of this mess this time. Getting lost in the woods was one thing, this- whatever it was- was its own problem.

While Marley tried to shower- her head replayed tonight's events- trying to see where things went wrong and mentally beat herself up about how she was probably going to be held for some sort of ransom or nearly killed again. She had to remind herself to breathe- again. Nazo had already said he didn't have any intentions of harming her, for now at least.

'How did I get myself into this mess.' she couldn't help but ask herself as she lathered on the shampoo.

It had been almost 4:30 Am when Marley walked out of her house, beginning to make her way towards the shadowy woods.Tonight was one of those nights where she couldn't sleep. She had always been a night owl, preferring the quiet of night to the noise of day. This was even reflected in where she chose to live -a small house in a fairly secluded area- not too far from the neighboring town, but not too close either. Nothing was out of the ordinary tonight, except for the unusually bright glow of the full moon. Deep in the forest, there was the perfect spot she'd deemed perfect for stargazing.Trudging up the hill, she had her ancient Ipod ready with her favorite song, allowing for a truly calm experience when she stargazed.
