The clock read. Despite it being so late into the night, Denji was still wide awake.
Although beside him was [name], relaxing as his warmth had taken over their senses.

" [name]" he muttered, just above audible

"Yeah Denji.?"

"Why do you have to go?" Your breath hitched as he finished his sentence. You knew what he was talking about, you just didn't want to address it.

"Somethings aren't meant to last ya'know, sucks but what can we do about it right?" Trying to humor him as much as you could.

Denji stayed silent, just barely processing the words you spoke. "Let's run away together."

"You know we can't."

Oh but he did, he knew no matter what you two tried, Makima would still find you. It was almost impossible to get away. Especially with everyone after Denji, that was seriously in your way.

A couple days back, you had gotten into a serious accident with some other devil down town, Makima had heard about this and decided, you with being gone, there would be more peace around the place. Since you were a devil, you were also under her control.

So it was decided, you were to be 'removed' on Wednesday.

Today.

"You've always been so careless [name]."

"I just still don't see why you have to leave me so quick. The party's barely started huh?"

Denji tried to chuckle to himself, but he knew after today. The lonely void in his chest , where his heart is supposed to be, would come back and swallow him whole.

"I'll miss you [name], but, how am I supposed to let you go after this." That's when you could hear the soft n' muffled whimpers coming from the same messy haired male

"Just have fun, I- I know it won't be the same but. Just survive for me, okay?"

Denji hated this, he hated feeling so powerless against having a say in saving you. He loved you. He really truly did, but, it's not like he could disobey Makima.

Or maybe he could

Though he knew it would end up worse, he just couldn't think rationally right now.

"I love you Denji"

"I know" He softly mumbled to you as the tears continue to roll down his porcelain skin.

"I wont be gone for long you know.."

Now this caught his attention.

"W-what..?" He couldn't understand what you meant at all, but he'll be damned if he doesn't figure it out.

"She's not killing me persay but, I might forget a lot of things. She might let me off easy and only keep me for a couple of months you know."

Denji still thought this was too long and he couldn't Keep what ever composure he had left up. He broke down crying, how could he spend weeks without you? When he couldn't even survive a good couple of hours without.

"Wait for me, please"

"You bet your ass I will."
This made you feel slightly better, knowing no matter how long she planned to keep you, you could come back right to Denji's arms where you belong. A place of so much comfort and warmth.

Denji knew losing you, would be like losing his heart a second time, but god would he stay as long as possible just to see you again.
