CHAPTER 5: A TANGLE OF FEELINGS

People think love is very easy to find. It's just magic that happens so fast... But we didn't know that some love is not perfect; it gives us pain...

EILEEN'S POV

It was hard to concentrate. I still hadn't finished writing for the blog or the assignment that Mr. Yong had given me earlier.

When I arrived at my office, I accidentally bumped into Candice, and she was furious. I had been on the verge of telling her what I saw at Vanessa's party yesterday about Thomas, but the words caught in my throat.

Then, I ran into Thomas. He shot me a glare, making it clear that he wanted me to stay quiet.

I really want to help you, Candice, but I don't want to meddle in someone else's business, especially when you've been so unkind to me lately.

Maybe next time I'll find the courage to speak up.

Just as I was trying to gather my thoughts, a notification popped up on my phone. I saw that Draven had liked a picture of me with my brother from five months ago.

It made me chuckle; I guess I have a stalker now. Curiosity piqued, I decided to chat with him. Who knows where this could lead?

CONVERSATION

"So I have a stalker now? I didn't know you liked me that much," I replied, cringing at my own words.

Why did I say that? It sounded so cheesy.

"I just accidentally tapped it; I have clumsy fingers. But you and your boyfriend look so cute together," Draven replied.

Wait, he thinks that guy in the picture is my boyfriend? That's hilarious. Well, Draven, he's not! Are you jealous? What should I say? Ugh, maybe this:

"HAHAHA, he's not my boyfriend; he's my brother! Also, I've never had a boyfriend," I typed, letting out a sigh afterward.

It was true, though. I hadn't had a boyfriend since I entered this world.

"Why don't you have a boyfriend? I mean, since birth?" Draven replied.

Why don't I have one? Is it really that important to have a boyfriend?

"Well, it's just not my thing... but now I think I'm ready," I replied, feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves.

Yeah, Eileen, you're ready; that's why you signed up for Tinder.

"Well, I'd be lucky to be your first boyfriend," Draven replied.

Wait, this is just a chat, but why are my cheeks turning red and my heart racing? Wake up, Eileen! You just met this guy a week ago; so cool.

I wanted to keep chatting, but suddenly Candice burst into my office, saying that Mr. Yong was looking for me.

I needed to hurry. I quickly replied to Draven to avoid leaving him hanging.

"In your dreams! I want to get to know you more, Draven. Also, goodnight! I have to do something important. Have a great night!" I sent before rushing off.

Maybe I could talk to him later when I get home...

Mr. Yang OFFICE

"Eileen, did you finish the task I assigned to you?" Mr. Yong asked, his expression serious.

I hadn't finished at all; I had spent the whole day lost in a book. But I could at least hand him what I had completed.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Yong. I didn't finish it yet, but here I hope this conveys my idea," I replied, handing him my paper.

He examined my work, his brows furrowing in concentration. My heart raced.

Was I about to be fired? Would he dislike my proposal?

"Ms. Eileen, good job! Keep it up. Your idea is brilliant," he said, his tone brightening. "Finish that, and you'll have a presentation this Saturday, so don't let me down, okay?"

He shook my hand firmly, and I felt a surge of pride. I couldn't believe he liked it.

My idea was simple: we should allow people to express their opinions, which we could then feature in the newspaper to ensure that those in charge notice what the community needs.

As I exited his office, I spotted Thomas leaning against the wall.

"What an attention seeker. How could a newbie like you get Mr. Yong to accept such a lame idea? Did you poison him?" Thomas sneered, crossing his arms.

I just ignored him and get my bag.

I just got home and it was so exhausting

What a lonely, tired day...  I ate the burger that I bought earlier in the store and it was so delicious and I drank this Okinawa Milk tea, The other Milk tea, which is the Oreo, was in refrigerator. I will save
it for later.

I just look at the wall, thinking I should work hard so I could tell my dad that being a writer is also a good job for me more than being an attorney.

Then I start to chat Draven but he's not online... Maybe he was busy, but it was a morning to him, then the button turned green!! he was online, and I started to chat him.

'' Hey, how was your sleep? .. Wait a minute, Eileen. If you show that you are concerned about him, maybe he thinks you liked him that much?? Wait, I need to delete it.

'' Hey, what's up, Draven!'' I replied

Yeah, that's right, girl, we need to hide our feelings toward a person we like. I mean, we are supposed to wait for them to confess first.

''I am here. Sorry, I was busy jogging outside. But how was your day today, dear?'' Draven replied

Oh, is he asking me about how I was? well done... I was good I mean, I don't know if I was? It was exhausted day for me

'' Well, there was a guy that I annoyed too and he was really annoying, like he said that I was an attention seeker I mean, he heard me talking to the boss and my boss liked my work I guess he was envious to me.'' I replied

'' Good job, Eileen. Also, don't mind that guy I mean, people in our world, If they are envious or jealous on something, they will do everything to take you down so don't mind them, okay?'' Draven replied

Hearing those words from Draven makes me strong.

''Thank you Draven for that advice. Also, well, I was about to sleep. Good morning, I guess??''

'' Well, do you want me to sing you a song so you could go to sleep??'' Draven replied

The phone rang...

Then he sang me a song and I fell asleep I forgot to end the call I mean, he will probably end the call

Alarm ringing...

I woke up and saw we were still on call and I called him.

''Draven you there?''

'' Yeah, I was here. Good morning. Well, I hope you had a good sleep but I need to do something now I have a job at night in cashier so I really need to go have a nice day.''-Draven replied

But before he ended, he told me i was loud while i was sleeping!!!...

Wait, he hear me snoring? Oh my god, Eileen that was so embarrassing.

But wait...

Oh my god, did he just stay in call. I didn't realize that he will stay on a call...

I think It was you, The perfect boyfriend for me... I mean, Eileen, don't be so fast
