Zarah pov:

I wake up as soon as the sun rises. It was a very strange night, but pleasant I must say. Nobody can explain how that girl came down from the sky. My chest clenches at the memory of how scared and confused she looked. The poor little one seemed to not even know where she was standing. I quickly dress and head to her room. I enter without knocking and find her crying, hugging her bear and the furs.

I walk over quickly and place a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't cry anymore little one. Everything is fine." She looks at me with her sky blue eyes full of tears. Her golden hair tangled and scattered everywhere. I smile at her and she hugs my chest, venting into my arms. I place her carefully on my lap and cradle her, humming a comforting song. She separates from my chest and I dry her tears. "Listen little one, I know I'm not your mommy and I know you miss her, but I don't know how to take you with them. What I do know is that you will be more than welcome in our clan." I say calmly, trying to be as gentle as possible.

She sniffs and asks with her tender little voice. "And what clan is this?"

"Azgeda." She looks at me confused and I explain. "The Ice Nation." She seems to understand this time. "I am the queen, Roan is a prince, heir to the throne. My sister, his mother, died a few months ago and since he is still small, I took the throne. And now we have our princess. You're our Skai Prisa." She smiles at me, the sadness fading away from her face instantly.

She is so small and beautiful and delicate. What kind of parents would get rid of such a divine girl? I displace the thought. Now my priority is to take care of the little girl. She and Roan depend on me now. I must be the mother figure they so badly need. I am not a mother, but I will try. For them.

I carry her in my arms and she laughs, grabbing onto my neck. A warmth fills my chest. She's only been in my life for a few hours and I don't want her to leave anymore. Roan catches up with us and says good morning. I could get used to this.
