To be honest, being at the airport made me feel a lot better because seeing those planes and realizing I am going to America just makes me so happy. I have not been overseas in many years and I am really excited to be going back up. That is why I mustered up my courage, put a smile on my face, and left the Uber that we had taken from home to here. King Shaka International Airport.
I am not going to lie, for an airport, the international departures section was a bit lacklustre and frankly quite boring. It only had two eating places and only one was open. However, this place served one damn good breakfast. The eggs were scrambled to perfection and so milky that it just tasted perfect, the sausages grilled to the perfect texture and flavour and the toast made perfectly crispy yet not burnt.
The duty-free shop was quite boring, so I just decided to sit on my phone and message Lexi. I felt bummed out to message her, but she is my bestie and I can always rely on her to cheer me up.

Having to lie to Lexi really hurts me but there is nothing I can do now but take my stuff and go to the boarding gate.
*Standing in the line at the boarding gate*
Random Girl: Hey is this the line for first class?
When I turn around there is this beautiful girl. She is slightly shorter than me, about 5'5in, and she has long, curly hair. And her eyes. Those sea green eyes that are just mind blowing. For a moment, I lose my tongue and cannot think of anything to say. Yeah, I know I am stupid you do not have to tell me that. So, let us do this.
Y/n: Yes, umm, the line is pretty long. You can squeeze in in front of me if you want. Random Girl: Thank you so much :) Hi I'm Amelia nice to meet you :) Y/n: I'm Y/n and the pleasure is mine really :) So where are you going on this fine day? Amelia: I am actually going to Disney World because I am going to meet my parents. I came here to visit some family in, ummm, what's this place *tries to remember* I think the place is called Richard's bay or something. Y/n: That's so cool I am actually going to Disney World too. We are going for a much, MUCH, needed break. Let's just say I had a bit of a rough year :( (Which I think is a bit of an understatement on my part) Amelia: I am sorry :( Maybe we will see each other in Disney World and then we can turn your year around :) Y/n: Okay sure :) *Line starts moving* Hey the line is moving we should probably get moving. I will see you in Disney :) Amelia: For sure :)
Is it just me or was Amelia trying to flirt with me? No, I cannot get attached to anyone right now or let anyone get attached to me. It just will not be right. She seems really sweet. No, she does not seem really sweet. She is super sweet and, to be honest, I could not take my eyes off of her. She is so freaking beautiful. Okay focus y/n let us concentrate and call mom and dad to tell them boarding for us has begun.
Walking down the walkway to the plane gave me such goosebumps. Thinking that this will be the last time I am in Durban, this place for which the last 17 years I have called home, is really sad. I try to hold back the tears, but one escapes from my eyes.
