"But if I sit in the rain, maybe I can drown in something other than my own thoughts."

━━━━━━━༺ - ༻━━━━━━━

Void as soon as he opened his eyes the next day was met with a pounding headache, his eyes were bloodshot red and puffy from extensive crying and his mouth dry and in desperate need of water. Lifting himself out of the comfort of his bed was a bit more challenging than the days before. He dragged himself into the bathroom, his body feeling like a sack of bricks, wanting nothing more than to just go back to bed and disappear for a week, but he knew he couldn't. He had work to do, and steering away from his routine would cause suspicion with other residents of the household, so he had to man up and do his job. Today was Saturday and that meant that it's a day off for the guys so he had to drive in the girls from the brothel and call in the regular DJ, plus he had to bring Chase the report from last night. Ugh, he couldn't wait for Chase to verbally bash him in for what happened. Just another addition to this glorious day. Note the sarcasm.

Void stepped into the warm, steaming shower adjusting the shower head to hit the floor below it, sitting down and leaning his back onto the cold tiles as the water rhythmically dropped down on the top of his head, the pressure of the droplets massaging his skull and dulling the throbbing headache just a little to where it was more manageable. He stayed like that in the shower for an additional twenty minutes before he began to scrub himself down and stepped out when the tips of his fingers started to wrinkle. Void didn't dare to look at the mirror above the sink as he brushed his teeth, knowing that if he did he was going to smash it with his fists. He knew he looked weak and pathetic which was the state he could not handle seeing himself in, he had seen it way too many times. Plus, he really didn't feel like picking up broken glass shards today. Any additional task is super unnecessary.

(A/N: This man needs so much therapy and anger management I can't stress this enough)

Just as Void was putting his drawstring black sweatpants on there was a knock on his bedroom door. 'That's strange'  Void thought. Nobody ever came knocking unless it's was an emergency. Void rushed over to the door opening it up to reveal Mayhem's huge figure dressed in his usual attire, standing there with a small smile on his face. Void raised his right eyebrow in confusion and Mayhem upon noticing his expression cleared his throat.

"Hey V, I came to check up on you." Mayhem scratched the back of his neck in a nervous manner and Void opened the door wider without a word allowing him to step inside before he closed it behind him rolling his eyes. He knew what was going to happen now. Here we go...

Mayhem walked over to Void's nightstand opening up the drawer and inspecting the content of each of his medication bottles under the minimum sunlight seeping into the room. There were about three bottles which were mostly anxiety medication or sleeping pills but Void rarely used them these days since he didn't feel like he needed them. If anyone else besides Mayhem did this shit they would have been shot and thrown out in a blink of an eye but Mayhem has always been like a father figure to him so Void kept silent while he rummaged through, and when he sighed and closed the cabinet he turned his large frame back around and that's when Void spoke.
