"So we meet again"

"Damn that party huh?" My best friend Cody smirked as they peered at me knowingly as it didn't go unnoticed by them that I had disappeared half the night with the trace of another woman.

It was the next day and we were meeting at a small coffee shop near our workplace where we worked several long hours just for the smallest of pay. Both of us worked at a bakery where we're famously known for our shocking sales for just bread. Our arrogant boss thought it was convenient to have a coffee stand in our bakery: making us technically rivals with the place we now were sipping almost heavenly made, steaming hot drinks.

They make hella good coffee okay?

Although I had clearly heard the question Cody had asked, I chose to ignore it all together and simply just grip tighter on my drink.

"Hey? Hey! I know you heard me! Don't ignore me like that cmonn-"

"I heard you, I heard you..." I sighed- leaving me no choice but to answer the dreaded question unwillingly. "Look, it was a quick hook-up, nothing more, nothing less. Meaningless almost." I reflected, was this to convince them or me?

...

"So was she good?" Cody added with a suggestive wink; to which I responded with a playful hit.

"Shut up- I swear to god people are looking-"

"Good! Let them admire my astonishing beauty!" They posed dramatically to add to the effect. Our dynamic had always been the introvert who wanted nothing more than quietness and the extrovert who was always dramatically so over the top. I don't regret anything though.

"Um sorry?" A new, shy voice enquired.

We both turned too see a short woman with a sea of freckles painting her face, framing her heart-shaped face with blonde locks enhancing her stunning looks even more. Not my type, but my companion who took every chance to flirt with anything that merely breathes, took the opportunity to go full bachelor mode.

"Hey pretty girl," A flirtatious smirk played on Cody's face, "What's up?"

The woman looked extremely offended

"Um excuse you I have a boyfriend." She sternly said, to which I couldn't help but snicker at the sight of my longest friend finally being regretted. Cody helplessly stumbled over their words as after the blow had been dealt, they truly had no idea what to do next. They're an idiot like that.

She rudely ignored their (kind of) pathetic mumbled apologies and turned to me next.

"She's on duty so she can't introduce herself in person so I'm doing in her place," She solemnly spoke this like a practiced speech, which it probably was judging from her tone.

She handed me a small note and walked off in a huff.

'hey, fancy seeing you here :)" And a number was attached to it.

A/n: so guess who decided to turn this into a sort of story- sorry this is short, school life yk
