for most people, midnight might be a little too late for drinking and eating fried chicken, especially on a night where they have work the next day.

but for kuroo and his friends, it's almost a weekly thing the group of young adults has. on friday nights, right after kuroo tucks eita to sleep, the rest are in his living room messing around like high schoolers again.

"oh come on, kuroo," iwaizumi's words slurs, "who was your sexual awaking, hm?"

nana takes the beer away from iwaizumi, "whoa there, hotshot. you had way too many drinks."

"oi!" he takes his drink back. "i'm fine!"

"he's gone," oikawa laughs, "his head is in the clouds."

"but who was your sexual awaking, kuroo?" bokuto asks, slightly curious.

kuroo shrugs, giving his best friend a sly smirk. "i guess we'll never know."

"not fair!"

"i think you're also drunk, bokuto." nana laughs, leaning onto oikawa.

"shush, nanashima. i'm focusing."

"on what?" rin snorts.

bokuto didn't answer, making the rest laugh. kuroo sat back, enjoying his beer. "if you guys don't keep quiet, eita is gonna wake up."

"no he's not," oikawa says, reaching for a chicken. "your kid is a deeper sleeper than bokuto, he's not gonna wake up."

nana put down her drink and let out a relieved sigh, laying down on the ground. kuroo stares at her, raising a brow. "you good?"

"yep, just thinking."

"oh shit, she's thinking! give her some space guys!" rin mocks.

"oh fuck off, rin!"

as time passed by, iwaizumi, rin, and bokuto were all knocked out from too many drinks. nana, oikawa, and kuroo were still holding up. the three always had a better alcohol tolerance than the other three.

"ah we're getting olddd," oikawa whines.

"we're going to age faster if you keep pointing it out, tooru." nana says, rolling her eyes.

"i mean, we aren't getting any younger, are we?" kuroo points out. "before you know it, eita is going to be graduating high school, and i'm going to be old and probably still single."

"you think you're still going to be single by then?" oikawa asks.

kuroo shrugs. "not a lot of people are willing to date a single father, especially a young one."

"orrrr," nana drags out, "you're still in love with katsumi."

"hey!" kuroo denies, "i'm not, but i still wish she was in my life, y'know?"

"understandable."

oikawa let out a stretch, cracking his back. "falling in love isn't worth it."

"FACTS!" nana shouts, giving oikawa a high five.

kuroo let out a small giggle. a part of him does agree with oikawa. love isn't worth it. as kuroo got older, he learned that falling in love was just the first step of a heartbreak that might traumatize you for who knows how long.

but the other part of him doesn't want eita growing up with only one parent figure. sure, his son is surrounded by adults, and every single one of them adores eita to death but none were parent figures.

"what are you thinking about?"

nana snapped kuroo out of his thoughts. he smiles at her, "just thinking 'bout how pretty your brother is."
