The secret passage

Chapter 1 (Am I dreaming?)

I followed a whisper down the staircase, that led deep beneath the city. After the whisper went quiet, I looked around to notice I was in a sewer; it looked old. Possibly a few hundred years old. Curiosity got me, I just had to know more so... I followed the tunnel. After what felt like and eternity, I reached the end of the tunnel, I was amazed at what I was seeing. I saw a whole other world, a world with magical creatures. The grass was greener then I had ever seen it.

Back home there were barely any plants. The few that had survived the war were almost dead and very dull, little to no color on them. I didn't even know plants could have color. I mean my mother always said earth was beautiful before the war, but I didn't believe her. Before I was born the world became overpopulated. Countries no longer had the land to produce enough food to feed all the people, so they started fighting over it. We don't know who shot the first missile, but it started World War 3. After the first shot was fired the missiles started increasing in size and destruction. After a while they got so big, they were destroying more then we could fix. There were so many bodies that we couldn't even bury them all. That war settled after we realized we were fighting for land to feed the dead.

I looked around again and studied my surroundings. I didn't understand how there could be a beautiful blue sky when we were at least a mile underground. The trees were twelve feet tall with huge green leaves. I stepped out of the tunnel and the sewer disappeared. What was happening? Magic isn't real; it definitely looked real though. I couldn't wrap my mind around where I was or what was going on. Just as I was about to see if these creatures could speak English, I saw a girl set her hands on fire with her mind. After that I decided to turn back but then it hit me. The tunnel home had disappeared, I don't have a way home. At that moment I almost fainted; I felt my lungs collapsing and I couldn't breathe.

That is how I ended up here, in this mess. All a sudden someone or something taps my shoulder. I turned around to see who or what just tapped my shoulder. "Are you ok" a human looking girl asks me? I don't say anything, as I don't know what to say. "Who are you" she questions me, as if I'm the alien? I am still gathering my thoughts, so it took me a second to answer. "I'm Rory, where are we; how did I get here, who are you" I say really fast? "Slow down, I'm Octavia, I am a water goddess and, the strongest water goddess to ever exist; that is why I am the water princess. This is a secret magical world that exists inside earth, kind of. It exists in the astral plain; only other supernatural creatures can access. What are you" She explains. "What do you mean, I'm human. Your crazy and I'm hallucinating" I say in a panic, trying to process what she is saying. "You come from the outside world" she questions? "Yes, if only supernatural creators can enter this plain or whatever does that mean I'm supernatural" I ask? "Yes, follow me" she answered.

After we walk for a while, we reach a palace. "Wow, its beautiful" I state to myself. As we approach the gate a guard stops us. We stood there for a minute, then he just let us go. No questions, no x-ray, and no pat down. We continued walking, as I thought about what had just happened. "He can sense anything dangerous on you" Octavia states when she notices my confusion. "How, he didn't do anything. Where are we going" I question? "It was just a power he was born with. We are going to talk to the queen, she will be able to tell us what you are" she states as we enter the throne room.

"Who is this, why did you bring her here" The queen questions in a demanding tone. "My queen; this is Rory, from the human world. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to tell us what she is exactly" Octavia asks cautiously? "Step forward and place your hand on the stone" the Queen orders. I start walking forward and trip on the rug. After I get up, I place my hand on a white and black stone. It goes crazy and starts glowing all kind of colors. I take my hand back really fast. "You cant be, you're from the human world" The queen says franticly. "What, am I dying" I say trying not to worry. "No, child. You are the lost princess; you will unite all six kingdoms" the queen answers amazed. "Wait, what" I say confused. "How did she get to the human world; it makes no sense" Octavia questions cautiously. "I dont know. Guards show her to her room and get her some food or whatever she wants" She orders.

"I'm good but thank you. I just want to go home" I say calmly. "This is your home child-" she starts to say, before I cut her off. "I dont mean to be rude, but this isnt my home. I have a family and friends to get back to. Im not a princess, I cant unit all six of these kingdoms you speak of. I have enough people to unite" I say kind of aggressively. "This is your home, even if you dont want it to be. You are my daughter which makes you a princess. When the time comes you will take my throne and unite all six Kingdoms, you will lead us threw the wars to come. Except my help and the training of the guards here" the queen states. "I will not lead people to war, I saw what happens when wars start. It doesnt end well; I can promise you that" I say concerned but also like I know what I'm talking about. "It will if we win, which we will because no kingdom is stronger than us" the queen states proudly. "Yeah, thats what the people from my world said. It would have been a good plan except other counties made alliances and built missiles. A war that lasted ten years is going to take ten hundred years to come back from" I state before walking away.
