Me and my best friend Jinhee just showed up in time for the job interview in this chilly office in Seoul, South Korea. We used to work in Gangnam, but we recently moved.
"So what are your names? I will send you down to the manager's office in just a moment once I sign you guys in." The lady at the desk's earrings swayed as she turned her head to look down at the paper on the desk.
"My name is Lily Kim, and this is Jinhee Dae." I pointed to my friend in her classy button up shirt and pencil skirt with blue detailing.
"Alright, please take a few steps until the end of the hallway, then turn left, and in the first room on your right will be an escort." The lady pointed down the hallway to the side of her desk, and then she readjusted herself to get back to work.
"Thank you!" Jinhee ended the conversation kindly.
We both walked down the hallway and followed our directions quietly until we met up with the escort.
"Good morning, ladies." A man with a white button up and black tie with grey formal pants spoke up and opened the door to the first room on our right.
He was really tall, and he wore a small and classy name tag that spelled, "PARK CHANYEOL".
"Hello~" I said softly as I looked up at him, holding my binders filled with information about myself, and my little cup of coffee from Starbucks. He looked down at me and grinned.
The rest of the walk was quiet and calm until we reached the manager's office which was the start of our interview for the job.
The interview went very smooth and quick. I was really proud of Jinhee and myself afterward.
We were sent out of the room after the interview, and we met up with the escort again to walk us back to the room where we first met him.
"How did it go?" The tall man asked us.
"Pretty good actually! I'm really excited for what happens next." Jinhee exclaimed to the escort.
"Well, that's good!" He said softly, probably by orders to converse with
only small talk.Once we reached the room, he stood behind us as we walked back to the lobby. We waved goodbye and then left the building.
"Well that went really well!" Jinhee smiled and looked at me as we waited to cross the street.
"Yeah I think we might get the job!" I smiled back and we crossed the street quickly.
"Hey, we should go to the café right there, we deserve it." She walked a few steps ahead and turned back to look at me.
"Okay!" I said happily.
We ordered our drinks, (our favorite, green tea) and sat down at a little table by a beautiful painting hung up on the wall.
We talked for hours after we got our drinks. But we had to leave eventually, so we packed up our stuff in our hands and walked out the edge of the side walk, and called a taxi.
The taxi took us to the apartment we rented together and we paid the man. We got inside the apartment building, and got into the apartment.
I plopped down on my bed in the plain room and sighed.
"I better call my parents that I'm safely moved." I sat back up and slipped off my heels that I'd been wearing all day.
"Yeah, me too." Jinhee said from the other room.
We both called our parents and I decided to go check if we had any mail since we moved in on mail day.
I walked down the stairs in the building, heading to the main lobby in a pair of sweats, my hair pulled back into a pony tail, and I was still in my formal shirt.
I got the keys out of my pocket and opened the mail box to see one little thing for our phone carrier. I turned around and bumped into a gentleman accidentally.
"Oops! I'm so sorry!" I apologized and looked up to see the escort from earlier.
"Hey! It's alright~" He held my shoulder and smiled showing his teeth.
I blushed and looked down at my feet. He spoke up again, "I didn't know that you lived at these apartments?"
"Oh yeah, I just moved here from Gangnam, I heard about the office job, and I decided to come here with my friend, Jinhee." I explained.
He nodded and said, "That's pretty brave of you! I would've never moved, because I am too childish to even work there. So I'm just and escort that isn't really allowed to talk." He rolled his eyes and shrugged.
"I'm sorry!" I held my breath and looked up at him with sorrow.
"Well, it's not that bad because I don't have to do all of those researching things like other people do!" He chuckled and sighed.
I giggled and nodded quietly, it was getting pretty awkward.
"Oh yeah! My name is Park Chanyeol. You can call me Chanyeol though." He held out his hand for me to shake it.
I shook his hand and smiled, "I'm Lily."
"Let's meet up sometime? You know, like maybe somewhere in town?" He said and blushed like a tomato.
"Sure thing!" I said. Then I walked up the stairs and looked back at him, who was opening his mail box with one hand and waving with the other.
I immediately ran up to the apartment once he looked away and told Jinhee excitedly.
"Ooh, you go girl!" Jinhee said, winking.
