Beee beee beee...
"Mehhhh", Maya whined. The sun streamed in through the window falling way too brightly on to her pink techno plane plushies. Tsk, this is why she had black out curtains before Floof shredded them. Glancing at her phone the time read 10:00 am, which is usually a late time but Maya had stayed up way too late playing Minecraft again. Barely getting 6hrs of sleep. Her doctor would most definitely have big words to say about this. She smiled at the thought

"Alright you are 100% clear and will only need monthly check ups from now on!," Dr.Mavey chered. It wasn't every day you got cleared from cancer. Her insurance company was most definitely jumping for joy. Despite her usal monotone personality Maya couldn't help but feel giddy as well. She could go back to work, walk her dog, and could talk to her friends without worrying about if they were just pitying her. Now she only needed to be wary of the clout chasers. "Just make sure to get real sleep, a lot of patients either feel drowned in work or are too tired and unable to restart.... Given that I caught you writing 'lore' practically every single waking moment... make sure to get at least 8hrs of sleep.''

"Sighhh, will do doc."

Rolling out of bed Maya grabbed her phone rolling her eyes at the hundreds of twitter notifications, and she only had it turned on for seven people.

Philza, her online dad was freaking out that she finally was healthy-or at least recovering.
Wilber, a guy who she would consider closer to her than her own brother, was extremely anyonned that he had to find out with the rest of Earth's population. Maya scoffed, that's her petty wil.

Tommy, the youngest child of the online family yells what was most likely absolute fake news about who knows what. Yet, she didn't mind, despite his childish nature he was actually very smart and much better at reading the room than people gave him credit for. Albeit, he ignored the atmosphere most of the time in hopes of making it better. Maybe it was his blind love, but Tommy was quite possibly the best friend you could ask for. She sometimes found herself talking to Tommy about her cancer instead of the adults just because she couldn't bear the facts. Sometimes the person choosing to wear rose colored glasses is the only one able to see that red flags are just white flags dyed a different color.

Then there was Tubbo and Ranboo, best classified as the crazy friends next door. Just being all around whole-some about her recovery.

She glanced at Dreams,(her arch-enemy made best friend, although she would never admit it) single tweet. Though others may call him out for bringing the topic away from her recovery, she knew it was to help with 'his'(Maya is referring to the persona of technoblade) anxiety towards cancer.

Alright, I'm ready to gooo! Maya thought excitedly. She had practically run when making breakfast in joy for her first stream back in action. Now pulling up her account on the new set up, that was ordered during the treatment. I told my self to finally invest in better equipment if I made it back to YouTube.

Glancing at the new microphone, it was red and shiny, I sighed and threw it on the bed. Grabbing the rusted, out of date yeti I had stolen from my dad back when I was still in high school. After I hit 100subs I new it was time to make quality content, only the best for the viewers after all. Originally, I had whisper yelled Into the mic afraid of being too loud for my family- what can I say, social anxiety.

However, my dad offered to give me his old microphone(he has a recording studio) and I was ecstatic. So ecstatic in fact that I dropped the microphone— 3 times— on the way home. yea, not my finest moment. When I set up the microphone to record, the voice In the play back video was not my own. It was deeper, cooler, and kinda reminded me of Batman. I considered tossing it then and there, but why should I? The quality was unquestionably better and it's not like anyone online would know the difference. Besides I felt cool having a secret identity, really cool.

So, I used the mic, and whenever anyone in real life asked, I just say I used a voice changer for privacy.

I didn't realize everyone thought I was a guy though. Honestly, I assumed they new the voice was fake. I mean it's too cool for any real person to have. When I finally invited other creators to work with me it was- weird.

Skeppy: hey technoblade, are you ready? I'm gonna start the stream.

Techno: all good

Skeppy: what's up guys, it's your favorite YouTuber Skeppy! Today we are going to be doing some skywars, with the living legend, number one on the leader boards, your man TECHNOBLADE!

T: (your man? Did I really forget to tell him) ...

S:Technoblade?

T: uh.. I thought I was everyone's favorite YouTuber

S: WHAT no the crowns mine!

—————
Thus, everyone always just assumed I was a guy. It was really my fault, I should have not assumed the fans already new at 100subs. I could have corrected Skeppy then and there. I would have told my online friends when we met up, but then COVID hit and it didn't matter. Then Cancer hit and nothing mattered.

And just before the end of last year, I got 10 million subscribers. 10 million. 10 MILLION. OH MY GOD, how am I going to tell 10 million people that I'v been lying to them for 8 years? That I actually have been using a voice changer to get a larger audience. That I am actually a completely different gender. Shoot. There going to roast me alive.

Like a pig.

With a shiny red apple in its mouth.

BTW- the other person Maya/Techno is following with notifications is Jeff Bezozs because who doesn't?
