Down from the ledge, he waded into the water. It felt cool on his feet, refreshing even. He carefully made his way across and finally spotted the tie lodged on a rock in the middle of the stream. He gingerly hopped through the water, careful not to step on any shells or crabs. As he reached the rock, he bent down and extended his hand to retrieve the tie when his hand was met by another. Both reaching at the same time, a gloved hand had bumped his out of the way, but quickly backed away after realizing so. The hilichurl fighter looked up, mask being met with the others. It owner had blue fur, an odd suit, and a mask similar to his own. This one however, had some sort of character on it, unlike his own.

The shimmering unusual entity almost seemed to smile at him, awkwardly, if anything, and gestured some sort of apology. Did they not speak the same dialect? Was he mute like the slimes? The hilichurl fighter pondered this until he was gently tapped on the shoulder by the other. He flinched, and felt his face heating up. He look away. The tattered gloved hand was suddenly pushing his chin up, so that he could face the marvelous mysterious creature in front of him.

The hilichurl fighter felt as if his face would burn off.

The unusual entity seemed to be rethinking something, and the hilichurl fighter couldn't help but wonder what it was. Suddenly, the creature emitted a beautiful sound; a voice.

"My, uh, tie..."

Oh.

So they were of the same race. He just simply had assumed they weren't because of his odd demeanor. "I apologize" said  the hilichurl fighter, leaning down again to collect it from the rock.

The unusual hilichurl shook his head. "No, no, please don't trouble yourself. I simply meant to apologize for troubling you like this." he said, seeming as is he was smiling. He retrieved the tie from the rock, and straightened it with ease around his thin neck. This hilichurl fighter watched in awe as the other elegantly and swiftly tidied himself up. Unable to hold back, he asked;

"So- Who... who are you?"

The unusual hilichurl looked up, midway through fixing his jacket. "Who am I?"

The hilichurl fighter nodded. "Yes.. I never got your name."

The unusual hilichurl straightened up as much as his arched back would allow. The breeze ruffled his beautiful blue fur, his tie blowing and flapping upon his chest. "Wei. My name is Wei," he said kindly. "I am the unusual hilichurl, a special enemy for the traveler. I am, hah," he continued, rubbing his thumbs and twiddling his fingers, "modeled after the developer. Named for him."

The hilichurl fighter stared in awe. He, his boring old self, had been talking so casually to this important figure? His hunchback straightened a bit. "That's... amazing! Wow, I can't even imagine that... you're so cool... so special... so lucky!" he said, excitedly. "I wish that I was lik-"

He stopped abruptly when he saw Wei staring at the water flowing over their feet. He seemed almost sad. Almost... jealous of the hilichurl fighter. "You're right," he said, "it really is so cool. I should love it."

The hilichurl fighter felt heat rush to his cheeks. He didn't mean to ruin... whatever the mood they had was. He had to make up for it.

"Hey, um, Wei. If somethings bothering you.. would you want to talk about it?"

Wei looked back up at the hilichurl fighter. "Yes," he said, reaching a hand out. He took the other's in his grasp, sending a shockwave of emotion through the hilichurl fighter. "I would appreciate that."
