"Hello! Thank you for calling Giro Express transporters! We can take anything, anywhere."

"Giro? Is that you?"

Giro smile as heard the all too familiar female voice. "Ah, the Guardian... Or should I say client."

"Did you receive the packages from the archeological recon unit?"

"Yes, I got them."

"My unit is on its way to the agreed upon rendezvous point." There was a pause before she continued. "It's a little sooner then expected but let's meet up there."

"Alright." Giro hung up and turned around, calling to two young transporters. "Hey Vent! Aile! You ready to move out?" Neither teenager answered. Giro walked over to them. "Vent! Aile! Did you hear me!?" Once again neither one responded. They had their eyes fixed on a huge building off in the distance. One of Vent's hands curled into a fist while Aile stared silently at the huge building. "If things were different..." Vent mumbled under his breath, looking to the ground. Aile let a sigh.

"You can see the Slither Inc. head office building from here. They sure have done a lot to save this country." The teenagers turned to Giro, Vent looking utterly ticked and Aile looking quite depressed. It was Vent who responded.

"Bigger isn't always better. If they're security force had reach us in time ten years ago..." He broke off, shaking his fist with rage and anger. Aile finished his sentence for him.

"Our moms might still be here today if they had done something sooner. We were surrounded by Mavericks. Even now I can still hear the screams of the people... The Mavericks took everything from us..."

Giro looked at the children he had been taking care of for the last ten years. They had grown up so much thanks to him, but he knew that deep down they both wanted their mothers back. He sighed. "I remember the day I found you two all alone. I know it's tough but I doubt your moms would want you to be so sad. Besides, Aile, you're not bad in a pinch. I bet you didn't know that all of our customers love you."

This comment made Aile quickly change moods. "Not bad!? Giro! Is that suppose to be a complement!?" Vent nodded in agreement with the 14 year old girl. Giro laughed.

"Anyway, we have to get moving. The client is already on their way to the rendezvous point." He walked to his motorbike. He waited for Vent and Aile to get to theirs before they all went to the meeting point. Then Vent spoke up again. "Hey Boss, just who are those Guardian people we took the job request from? They haven't even told us what's in the package they want delivered so badly."

"The Guardians are a defense force who banded together to fight the Mavericks. Right now, they're moving from place to place investigating the cause of the Maverick outbreaks. As for the package, try not to ask too many questions. I'm sure it's very important and very dangerous. It's probably better we don't know. Don't get too involved or there might be trouble."

The teens looked at their boss with an upset expression. Aile opened her mouth to say something but was immediately cut off by the sound of gunfire behind Giro. The three transporters all ducked and Giro turned around. Aile's scared voice came from behind him.

"W-what's happening!?"

"Those are Mavericks! How did they get here!?" The lead Maverick fired again, hitting Giro's motorbike. Giro's eyes narrowed. "They must be after the package!" Two other Mavericks fired, but this time at the motorbike Vent and Aile shared. Both teens got blasted of the cliff side, out of Giro's sight, Aile screaming. Giro called out to his fellow transporters. "Vent! Aile!"

"Ugh..." Aile groaned as she opened her eyes. She was on the forest floor and hurt almost everywhere. She  looked around for Vent, only to find out she landed on top of him. She blushed and quickly got off. Vent stirred. He must have felt me move off of him! Panic rushed through Aile. To her relief he only asked two questions as he sat up.
