"y/n, wake up, y/n!"
y/n was woken up by a voice, "y-yes, I'm awake mother."
"oh my goodness, I really thought you passed out. Don't do that again." Her mother sighed, flicking y/n gently on the forehead. y/n pouts at her mother, rubbing her forehead grumpily.
"we're home, come on-" mother's words was cut off from y/n's question, "mom did you talk to someone in the car while I was asleep?"
Mother's eyes furrowed, confused. "no? why?"
y/n nodded at mother's answer, she shook her head as a way to say, 'nothing'. y/n open the car door, walking inside the house, leaving her mother scratching her head in confusion.
The stairs of their household were creaking caused by y/n's steps, the girl was subconsciously spacing out once more, and without her realizing she was finally laying down on her bed. She was thinking about her 'dream'. It all felt too real though?
I must've been I'm insane.
Her trance was broken by her mother's voice, "y/n, come down here please,"
"yeah? What's up? Why?" y/n calls back.
"hang around downstairs, and accompany me."
y/n laughs, standing up from her bed. She called out to her mother saying that she'll take a shower first.
Her hand grazed against the marble sink, as the cold water hits her cold skin, the girl looks up to the mirror to see the reflection of herself. Her dark eyes went down from the top of her head to her bare shoulder, down, down, and down. She sighed, it was a disturbing silence and all she could hear was the sink water rushing and the sizzling sound of her mother's food.
Then she remembered; please find me.
her tongue flicks in annoyance, it bothers her a lot somehow. y/n shook her head, turning off the sink. picking up her clothes as she felt the warm material of her sweater and sweatpants against her bare skin.
y/n steps out of her bathroom, going down the stairs. She met up with her mother who's cooking in the kitchen and greets her with a kiss on the cheek.
"hi, baby."
"hey, ma." y/n smiles at her mother.
"dinner wouldn't be ready for another 20 minutes, wait in the living room?" her mother said, turning her head back to catch y/n who was dipping her finger in a bowl of soy sauce. "y/n!"
y/n ran away from the kitchen giggling, as she throw herself down onto the couch. She turns on the tv mindlessly scrolling through tv channels. y/n decides to just open youtube on the tv, clicking on random music.
She felt her eyes getting heavy, thinking she got nothing to do anyway, she accepts her slumber.
"you're back"
Her eyes shoot up. It was that voice again. Ignoring the sudden dizziness from her sudden movement, she yells out, "who the hell are you! Show yourself, you wuss!"
"I'm here," they said from behind.
y/n looks back. No one. She could swear she heard their voice from behind. "what the hell" she mutters, brows furrowing in frustration. She didn't feel tired anymore, as fucked up as y/n was, she's not stupid and realized this dream was happening all over again.
"I'm not playing, bro. you better show yourself!"
"I'm here," they said, letting out a soft chuckle. "do you not believe me?"
y/n thought silently about how dumb and cliché he sounded, "I can't even see you" she crosses her arms looking around her surroundings. Same place as before. No one else was there, buildings were empty, roads empty. Just her and the voice.
"do you not believe me?"
"what are you- no!" y/n snapped, it frustrates her a lot.
Silence.
"do you not believe me?" their accented voice asked once more,
'Was he interpreting on something?' y/n thought. they must've been, they could ask the same question over and over again if y/n didn't answer correctly, and she was not having it.
"yes..." y/n hesitated.
"do you really?" the answer was different now, this excites y/n a little realizing that she was saying something right. She closes her eyes gently, taking a deep breath before answering them,
"yes, I believe you're here."
She forces herself to believe.
The voice chuckles once more, as y/n felt a large hand grabbing her shoulder gently. y/n's body tensed up, her eyes getting wider. In the corner of her eyes she saw a face, she turns her head and body a little, finally settling her gaze on a man. Terrified, y/n backs up slowly shakily trying to pry her hands off from the man's grasp that is settled there.
He smiled gently, "hello"
"you're Australian?" y/n nervously asked, as she mentally slapped her forehead thinking how dumb and offensive she must've sounded.
"who knows.."
"w-who are you really?" she gulped.
"who do you think I am? I should be the one who's asking"
y/n couldn't take this whole thing anymore, she slapped the man.
"d-don't play with me..." she shakenly asks, pointing her pointer finger accusingly to the man, who's now holding his cheek, and his head looking to the side from y/n's harsh slap. "Why am I here? Who are you?!"
The man lifts his head slowly, smiling softly as he took a step closer towards her once more, "that's for you to decide, honey."
He took another step closer, and y/n couldn't move. No matter how much she wanted to move.
As he finally reached her face, he tucks her hair behind and leans into her ear.
"Your mother's calling, honey. Close your eyes."
y/n couldn't help herself from closing her eyes as much as she wanted. It was against her will. It scares her.
All that y/n could see was darkness, she felt her body being lifted up and laid down on a soft familiar material,
"you'll be back soon," they whispered.
