Technoblade was walking in the forest close to his house, he wanted to clear his mind from stress and walking alone was his ideal fix. It was slightly snowing, and although he wasn't very cold, his breath came out in large huffs of smoke. He paused to admire the rising sun over the ocean from the snowy shore, pinkish and red hues illuminated the sky in a colorful blend. He could see snow dripping off spruce trees lightly as the sun shown on them, but quickly freezing again to harden into icicles.

Techno's admiration of the scenery was interrupted when he heard the crunching on a footstep in the snow. He turned around and placed a hand on his readied axe, his eyes met with a particular foe he had a special hatred for.

Dream

He hated how he was almost as good as him. Sometimes better. Sometimes the same. It made him feel uneasy that someone was as skilled as he was, it made him feel even more stressed. Although Dream was very skillful, he lacked humbleness, he flaunted his power over others and used it poorly in Techno's eyes. Then when people retaliated, he simply hurt or manipulated them. Dream couldn't manipulate Techno, which meant that they were at each other's throats constantly.

Dream placed a hand on his sword and grinned at Technoblade cockily,

"You want to fight again?" He said, his voice made Techno become more agitated. He almost wanted to shove his axe down his throat so he would shut up, but alas.

"Only if you want too." He replied.

He smirked again, his eyes widened and beckoned him to attack. His whole demeanor was shouting for him to attack to him, to try and hurt him, kill him, do anything to him, because that's what he was best at. Making people angry and agitated so he could fight them and he'd win. But not Techno.

"Come on, take a swing," Dream motioned his sword across his neck, "Go on and try and kill me."

Techno scoffed, "I don't want to kill you, I only want to make you hurt."

"Then hurt me." He challenged.

"You go first if your so eager for me to shank you."

Dream grimaced—clearly annoyed—but only tightened his grip to keep still.

"You go first." He said firmly.

"No. You come at me so brave and tough," Techno smiled at him innocently, "But what's hiding underneath that confidence? What hope do you have that your friends will be loyal to you? You manipulate and lie—for what? For fun? Poor strategy if you ask me." He finished.

"Shut the fuck up.  You don't know what your saying. Now fucking FIGHT ME!!" He yelled, taking a step forward.

"Didn't have to tell me twice." He replied, running at him, axe in hand.

They collided with a sickening clash of netherite grinding together, Dream gritted his teeth at the sound—he was sensitive to certain noises—but pushed Techno with his sword. Techno sidestepped, letting Dream fall to the side before he caught his footing and took another swing.

Techno used the cut of his axe to grip onto Dream's sword, and yanked it out of his hands. Weaponless, Dream grabbed a branch of a tree quickly, and climbed up it.

"What are you, a tree squirrel? Come on down, bitch." Techno taunted.

Dream didn't reply, his mind was racing to think of a solution. Technoblade was guarding his only weapon. He couldn't approach fast enough to grab it and Technoblade would hurt or kill him, then he would be helpless—or dead. He needed a weapon to parry and grab his real sword, then he remembered his knife on his upper thigh he kept for emergencies.

He gripped it, and jumped off the branch, digging into the side of the tree as he landed harshly in the snow. In a split second Techno and him were clashing again, this time against a tree as Dream tried to hold his ground with a knife barely a fourth of the size of Techno's weapon.

Then he side-stepped and with a quick move he stabbed Techno's side, to which Technoblade winced but his anger only doubled. He was tired of Dream. The wound he had just gave him would take a few weeks to fully heal, and what would Dream do? He would keep on doing the same things, and not change at all. Techno was blind with rage. He wasn't thinking straight, and what he did next he would regret for the rest of his life.

When they parried again, Techno pushed him even harder, and as Dream became more panicked, Technoblade made two quick slashes at his face. Dream dropped his knife and fell onto his knees clutching his face.

Techno waited for him to get up again but he didn't.

"Get up Dream." He said in a challenging tone.

Dream uncovered his face, the two cuts Techno had made had gone across his eyes—through the irises. His eyes were bleeding and his lip slightly quivered,

"Techno...stop...please stop."

"Why should I?"

"...I can't see."

Techno paused, but then slightly pushed him, Dream flinched in surprise. He cupped his face again,

"Techno tell me this is magic or something. Tell me I'll be able to see again. Tell me you DIDN'T JUST FUCKING BLIND ME!!" He yelled at him.

Techno gave up on fighting him anymore. It was clear he had won anyway, besides he had to take care of Dream now—it was only right. He swooped down and gently picked him up, grabbing his sword along the way as well. Then he started walking back to his and Phil's shared house, while it lightly snowed.

"Where are you taking me?" Dream asked him, in a panicked tone.

"To my house."

Dream paused, and tried to look in the direction of his voice, "...you promise?"

"Yes I do, Dream."

He shuffled around in his arms, once he got comfortable he closed his eyes slowly, "I'll hold you to that." He mumbled.

Techno scoffed, "I'm sure you will. Try to sleep, it's a bit of a walk back."

"Okay," Dream cuddled into his chest for warmth, then paused, "Is this okay?" He asked him.

"Yeah, I don't want you to freeze."
