Oil analysis system detects the core causes of corrosion and offers early warning signs of equipment deterioration. On-site oil analysis saves the time required to ship samples off-site and allows for fast decision-making.

The MiniLab 153 provides complete on-site oil analysis with four easy tests, offering fast actionable findings, saving time and money.

The Spectro Scientific MiniLab 153 Analyzer provides industrial plants with a complete on-site oil analysis system for rapid determination of machinery health.

Following the successful launch of the MiniLab 53 last year, Spectro's new MiniLab 153 expands the product range by including an elemental analyzer for the identification of impurities, additives, and wear metals. The new trace elements capability comes from the Spectroil Q100 RDE-OES (rotating disc electrode optical emission) spectrometer line.

The MiniLab153 system is simple to use and enables plant staff with little or no training to perform consistently accurate tests. In less than 20 minutes, a complete lab-quality measurement may be acquired on-site.

The Minilab 153 examines oil for pollution, chemistry, and machinery wear by combining particle count, viscosity, infrared spectroscopy, ferrous wear, and wear particle characterization. OilViewTM analytical software, which incorporates asset management and reference oil databases, alarm limit templates, Trivector report production, automated email report dissemination, and data analytics, is used to provide easy-to-interpret results and reports for the MiniLab Series.

The majority of mechanically-induced equipment downtime is caused by wear and corrosion of lubricated surfaces in machinery. Oil analysis detects early signs of equipment wear and identifies corrosion causes. Because the condition of machinery might vary dramatically while waiting for oil sample results from foreign laboratories, timely analysis is critical. The immediate, on-site analysis allows for quick decision-making to evaluate urgent or preventative maintenance tasks.

Lubricant oil analysis is an important component of predictive maintenance (PdM) programs because it improves equipment availability by reducing unexpected failures, enables proactive maintenance schedules based on predictive analytics, extends equipment life, and lowers total equipment lifecycle costs.

"The MiniLab 153 delivers rapid answers on the health of high-value equipment with real-time studies at the plant location," stated Spectro Scientific Vice President, Business Development Robert Wopperer at the product launch on the floor of Reliable Plan 2016. This data enables timely maintenance actions that eliminate unexpected downtime, lower maintenance costs, and guarantee machinery functions with maximum dependability."
