"Hey Jess, can you run out real quick?" I heard my boyfriend ask.
"What do you mean?"
"I just need you out of the house for a little bit, I need to make some calls for your birthday plans."
"Ooooh, birthday plans already? I suppose I can run to Target for a bit. What sort of plans are we talking?"
"Secret and super confidential ones. Go put on your shoes, I need like thirty minutes."
My boyfriend Sam loves to give me surprises, AND he's really good at keeping secrets from me - it's a very frustrating combo. That conversation happened a few weeks ago, and now my birthday is tomorrow and I don't have a clue as to what he has planned. My only thought is a fancy birthday dinner or something. We are both foodies and just moved to a much bigger city, maybe he found a really cool place for dinner? Not gonna lie, I bought a couple new dresses online just in case. But also there's so much in the city that we haven't explored, maybe he found something amazing to do online that I have never heard of? I even tried asking him tonight, and he still won't tell me. At this point I'm a little nervous.
