Continuing from the last chapter

——————————

You'd hit the button to shut the gate down. You then realised what the problem was. "I think it's after me. You stay here and I'll buy you some time." Just as you were about to roll under the gate before it shut Carlos pulled you away from it.

"Nope, you're not doing that. We can't lose our super cop here. C'mon, it's safer here." If you were being honest, you were annoyed at him for doing that. "I could've done it all by myself! If you would've let me go I would've saved so many lives!" "Look is it really the time to be arguing?"

The footsteps of the creature grew closer and closer. "Shit, he's coming. Hide, quickly!" You stood there with your arms crossed. Carlos grabbed your arm tightly and dragged you out of there. You both went to the closest room, the lights were off.

The room was pitch black and you couldn't see where you were going at all. You bumped into something when looking for the light. "It's fucking dark in here." You we're just pissed off at this point. Everything just keeps going bad."Yeah, no shit Sherlock." You heard Carlos comment. You'd scoff at his remark.

From the sounds of it Carlos was looking for the light switch too. You only had now just realised you had a flash light in your hip pouch. "I'm so fucking stupid." You pulled out the source of light and switched it on.

The entire room was a mess, pens on the floor and stuff like screws and what not as well. It seems that you both were in a somewhat large storage room. "Aha! There's the light switch." You'd pull the string and the light would work.

"Seems like supercop isn't so bad after all." "Yeah, alright. So what's the plan now? Stay here all night?" At this point you could use a nap. "Slow down, tiger. You need to relax a bit." You really felt like punching him in the face right now, but you decided to take his word. "Okay fine, you're right. Just give me a moment so I can figure shit out, please."

"You're the boss." Carlos shrugged his shoulders. You'd go to the other side of the room to sit down on the bench. You'd give yourself a moment to think. "Right, let's go check how the subway is doing first, then if something comes up we'll sort it out." "Alright then." You exited the room first, with Carlos following after you.

The walk there was very silent. You decided to try and start a conversation. "So what's going to happen to you?" You'd ask, being curious. "From the sounds of it, I won't be catching the train." You stoped for a moment. "What? Why not?!" You were in disbelief. "There'll be new orders. If it means I can help save the city, that's fine by me."

You were seriously not having any of this stuff anymore. "No, I can't lose you. Not after all you've done for me." You would stand there, looking at the tall individual in disbelief. "Are you always this stubborn? Plus, you're not loosing me. Here, take this."

The man gave you a radio, so you both can keep in contact. You took it from his hand and would walk in front of him, being disappointed by the news you've just heard. The rest of the walk was silent, until you reached the subway atlas.

—————————

Ahead of you were two U.B.C.S workers, the one you saw before with the glasses, and another whose face is unfamiliar with you "Good work. Your reputation is well deserved. Get on, the subway is about to leave."

The man you've just met seems around to be in his mid 50's. He had a deep voice with a slight Russian accent as well. "Carlos, Tyrell. You have your orders. You need to go back into the city and find Nathaniel Bard." The Russian would say.

"This isn't the last ride out of town, right?" You hated to ask this question, all you could hope for was a good response. "Do not worth, once the civilians are safe, the train will be back." You sighed with relief. "It's alright, you go in ahead. I'm not gonna die on you, and leave you in a cold, cruel, Carlos-less world."

You'd smile. "Alright." And just like that the train doors shut close.

You'd listen to the conversation in the train. "You need to find this scientist. His vaccine could save us all." You watched Carlos smile at you as he walked away. "You see? You're learning." You turned your back and as if this couldn't be worse, Nicholai was on the train with you. "The only life that matters is your own." You'd ignore his comment.

The other Russian got on the train with you both. The train started to move and you were so ready to get out of this city once and for all.

——————————

Around an hour later things took a turn for the worse. The two Russians would be chatting to each other, you'd sit there and watch them. Just a split second later the cart shook and an massive explosion was heard from the other cart. A dozen people died, and guess what caused it. It was that mutant thing again, the one with the grenade launcher.

You were so infuriated. "How is this fucker not dead yet!?" The one Russian pulled you to the side and convinced you not to try anything. As you were heading for the next door Nicholai locked it. "What the hell are you doing?" You'd ask, worried to what mischief he's up to.

"It's not after me." He said with a grin, and just like that he left you to die there. The mutant already got to the other U.B.C.S soldier. The soldier had a fucking bomb controller on him? Within seconds the train carts exploded apart, with you still in it. The cart went wild, it would go into the other tracks. The impact sent you flying backwards into the wall.

——————————

A few minutes later
.

The train cart crashed near by a boiler room you assumed. The train caught on fire just after you managed to crawl out of there. You struggled to walk but you were able to reach the room.

You sat down on the bench and healed yourself up so you could get out quickly. You ended up back in the city. It looks like you ended up near a river, with a bridge over it. Walking up the stairs you were still able to hear that thing still. "Can't stay here long.." you thought to yourself.

You were able to connect the radio with Carlos this time. "Carlos, respond." You said, waiting for a response. "Yeah, what's up?" Somehow you felt good being able to hear his voice again. "We didn't make it, the train derailed." "Derailed? Was anybody hurt?" "Everybody's dead." "Ah shit.." you would pause for a split second. "Nicholai left us to die." "Wait what?!" You'd look over the water and see something move. "What the fuck?"

That thing was back, it's appearance now was almost animal like. It walked on all fours and was bigger than before. It came charging right at you. "SHIT! It's back!"

"Y/N? Y/N, COME IN?" You put the radio in a hip pouch and ran for it. Lucky enough you were able to dodge it's attacks, you made a jump into the plaza and the monster did the same.
