Chapter 4

*After School*

When I got home, my mom saw a scratch on my face.

"Oh honey! What happened!" she said rushing towards me.

"Chrissy happened!"

"Why is it always her?" My mother asked, "You guys used to be great friends, I just dont get what happened." she said with a sad expression.

Elementary through Junior year, Chrissy and I were great friends. That was until the begining of Junior year. We hadn't seen eachother all summer because she went to Hawii. When we got back, she was different. New hair, new clothes, no more acne no braces, and she even went and got a boob job. After that, the bullying began.

My mom took me to the ER and I had a bruised rib cage and a spranded wrist. My mother said I was on bed rest for the rest of the week.

*Later*

I guess mom told Ashton because he came over with movies, pop-corn and candy. We were watching Finding Nemo in my bed and I started to fall asleep. I was about to close my eyes when the words left his mouth..... "I think I might be falling hard for you..."

I woke up to a pitch black room. I am cuddled up to Ashton as I snuggle closer into his chest. Taking in the smell of him, it was sort of a mix between his colonge and laundry, I could get used to this.. Then it came back to me.. "I think I might be falling for you.."

No....No...no this can't happen, he is not supposed to be falling fo me!

Ashton woke up. "Are you okay?"

I decide not to speak so I just nod my head.

Lier!!

Tell Him!

NOO..!

You like him!

"NO!" I say out loud this time. Ashton glanced at me.

"Im sorry... Are you hungry?"

"No s'okay. I gotta get home, I will see you tomorrow though." Ashton smiles as he leaves.

I nod, this needs to stop, I can't do this to Max... Not with Ashton.. I won't be the same..

*Days Later*

It has been almost a week since I have talked to Ashton.. I refuse to talk to him. He has tried to come over a couple times but my mom covers for me. I don't know what to do... I guess I'm just scared.

Today is Friday and so far I havent ran into him this week.

"Owch!" I yelled as someone ran into me."

"Uhh.. Im sorry Maya.."

Well damn, I spoke too soon. "It's okay.."

"Can we uhh... talk?" Ashton says, I can tell hes getting nervous.

I just nod and we walked into some random empty classroom.

"Why have you been ignoring me? Did I do somethig wrong..?" he questions.

"Im not.."

"Don't lie to me." Ashton cuts me off.

"I just don't want it to happen again..."

He gives me a questioning look. "What happen again?"

"I don't want to lose someone again, especially not you...."

Ashton slowly steps toward me and shakes his head lighty. "You will never lose me, trust me."

The next thing that happened, I didn't think I would ever do again...

"It was my boyfriend... Max.. He died in a car crash.." Then there went the tears, I couldn't control them, Ashton immediatly wrapped his arms around me tightly.

"Shhhhh.. Maya its okay... Im right here.
