"My name is Chris," He said.
"Mine is Emma"
We sat quiet on the bus full of people until we arrived. "Can you help me find my schedule?" He asked "Well you decided to come on the last day of school so you just stay in the homeroom. Actually 7th graders have a free day today so you'll just follow me to the gym." I could tell that he felt down for some reason when I told him that. I guess he was looking forward to seeing the classes but you would think that he would want to go to the gym. He looked fit anyways.
When we got off of the bus the sky looked bluish mixed with green and it was really windy but it wasn't really raining. "Sometimes I wonder what's going on up there," I said
This is what it looked like
"Blue sky means bad weather is here or coming. Let's check the radar." I opened the weather app and a tornado warning was issued in our area 7 minutes ago. "Let's hurry and get inside before this gets any worse," Chris said. As we rushed inside the school you could hear the wind blowing trough the electrical wires outside.
After a few minutes the power went out. So much for an exciting last day of school. The plans for the day where obviously cancelled so it was kind of a free day. The cafeteria was down because of the electricity being out so we ate the backup food which was peanut butter and jelly.
Throughout the day, Chris kept asking me questions when I didn't want to talk. He kept asking things like "What's your favorite color?" And "What's your favorite food?" Those type of questions are the ones that I didn't want to answer when the rest of the school is freaking out about not having WiFi.
I really just wanted to go home. Shouldn't the last day of school be something to look forward to? And then, I remembered my family. How are they doing on their vacation to California? Surely they would've called. They haven't called me or texted me in almost a week.
