The Moon's Kitten

Prologue

     Staring down at the new litter of kits, Enmei notices one kitten that doesn't look like the rest of the litter. It was a black kitten with orange eyes and one white paw. "Moon" Enmei picks up the kitten "Yeah, that sounds good. Your name will be Moon." She pulls the kitten close to her chest, lightly stroking the kitten. As Enmei sat there hugging the young kitten she could hear her parents calling her from the kitchen.

     Enmei wraps the kit in a soft blanket and walks outside. "That big ball of white in the sky, that is what you were named after, Moon." she looks down at the kit, "I'll always be here for you my kitty." Enmei gently puts the kit down on the ground in front of her, allowing it to explore a bit. The cat looks around at the blades of grass blowing through the soft wind, though unable to walk yet, the cat manages to move a little bit forward and bites at a blade of grass.

     The cat suddenly looks up at the moon, adoring it's beauty.
