The car pulled into the vacation home drive way. You and Demi clambered out while grabbing the suitcases. The house sat a few yards away from the ocean. Natural sunlight highlighted the accents of the home. Demi decided to rent a vacation house for the weekend before her tour.
You stood in the middle of the expensively furnished living room. Demi was always the one that bought you expensive gifts, let you met all her close celebrity friends, and yet all you could do was show her your gratitude. Demi resurfaced from the bedroom after she had finished putting away the luggage.
She brushed passed you, slightly tickling your hips. "I'm hungry, let's eat ."
You turned on your heels and followed her into the kitchen. As she leaned her curved frame over to examine the contents of the refrigerator, you seated yourself on the bar stool that connected to the island.
Demi pulled out a pallid of croissant sandwiches and fruits. "My team stocked the refrigerator before we got here I guess." She giggled. "They even left a picnic basket with a plaid blanket on the bed for us." She added.
You smiled slightly trying to not ruin her mood. Guessing she took for what it's worth, Demi walked off with the food and grabbed the basket. Once again you followed behind her until you were outside on the white sandy beach.
She unfolded the blanket and arranged the food. You kneeled next to her.
"The view is amazing huh?" She asked
"Breathtaking." You whispered
She turned to you, "You know what's also breathtaking?"
Before she could finish her statement, Demi noticed your demeanor. "Is everything okay, y/n?"
You stood abruptly; her eyes followed.
For two years of your relationship with her, you never felt good enough. You were a commoner; she a star. Also being referred to as Demi's girlfriend didn't make it any better.
You blinked away tears, "I need a break." you blurted.
"A break from what, me? What did I do?" she erected.
"I want you to be happy." you whimpered
She stood quickly, confusion written all over her face, "Where is all this coming from? I am happy."
"No, not with someone like me. You deserve better than someone like me." You said
"What do you mean y/n?."
You knew your reason was stupid, but it still managed to eat you up inside.
Before a flow of tears began to fall you turned around and ran to the house.
"I can't do this anymore." You cried
You could hear Demi call behind you.
You slammed the door behind you that opened to the beach. Even though your vision was blurred with tears you managed to find the master bedroom. Your suitcase was still packed and you drug it out the front door. This area was unfamiliar and you slept the whole drive up here. You had no idea where to go. You slowly started walking down the street, drowning in your own insecurities.
You felt ashamed of how fame could ruin a relationship. It wasn't necessarily the fact of Demi being famous, but how life is when your not. As you kept waking you noticed someone running into your direction in the distance. You didn't want anybody to see you like this, you more than likely looked a mess. Putting her head down, you tried to avoid eye contact, but it was too late. The guy halted in front of you sweat rolling down his toned body.
"You lost ma'am?" He smiled; breathing heavy
"No." your voice cracked
He cocked his head unsure if he wanted to believe you.
"I'm not a creep or anything, I swear." He smiled softly.
You brushed past him, "That's exactly what a creep would say."
Crossing your free arm around your chest you trudged forward. You noticed the sun started to set and it was getting late. You kept moving however letting the anger rise in your body.
Suddenly, you heard the man's voice again. "Wait, please!"
You stopped and turned slowly as he caught back up with you.
"Wait. I know who you are." He breathed heavily.
You rolled your eyes, "Let me guess, I'm-"
"Your y/n, the aspiring actress." He interceded
For the first time someone noticed you, for you. Not being accessory to Demi Lovato. The man leaned forward attempting to catch his breath.
"Why yes I am." You announced proudly.
He erected slowly, "I thought I recognized you. That's all."
As he turned on his feet, you grabbed his arm.
"Do you live by here." you questioned.

"Yes, I live about two properties down." He informed.

"Would you mind if I waited at your house until my ride gets here."

"Of course." he smiled

As you both turned to walk back to his property, you glanced over to the vacation home Demi rented for the two of you. You kept moving forward however, not letting your heart feel any remorse.
