A Letter to Alex

     Toby was sitting at his desk. He tapped his pen on the desk, staring at a blank piece of lined paper. He was trying to figure out what to write on it. He was trying to write a note to a certain person. Toby had seen them so many times throughout the year. So he decided to write a letter to him. A letter to Alex.

     Toby sat there thinking about what to write. What should he write to him? Eventually he wrote something down.

     "Dear Alex,"

     Toby paused, sitting back in his chair as he looked at what he wrote. He ended up not liking it, crumbling it up, throwing it away, and getting a new piece of paper.

     "Hey, I'm Toby. I'm in a few of your classes. You might know me for being a clutz and embarrassing myself all the time. And the kid that everyone picks on. Well, I sit behind you in History. But I thought we could get to know each other more, and be friends?

-Toby"

     Toby signed his name with a sigh as he sat back in his chair. He examined the paper. Through every 'O' there was an 'X' through it. Toby let out another sigh.

     "All I need to do is give him the note. Then I guess we have to wait from there." Toby sighed. What was he thinking? How was Alex, the popular kid, then one everyone loves and adores, going to like him back?

     Toby looked over to the clock. 2:34 am. "I really need a better sleep schedule" Toby thought as he got up, and began getting ready for bed.

     When he was done getting ready, he got in bed and immediately got on his phone, going to his camera roll. There were photos of Alex on there. The perfect photos that he has gotten of him in the halls and in the classroom. He admired them every night. He loved him very much. He loved him so much, it could be considered too much. But Toby didn't think you could love someone too much. He hadn't told Lyra about Alex though. Not yet.

     He was very excited to see Alex's response to the note. Though he was also very anxious at the same time. What if Alex didn't love him back? Toby wasn't fully doubtful of that thought. But he believed he would love him back.
