Y/N'S POV

It was currently 4 in the early morning. I was about to head to the kitchen to prepare breakfast when I pass Emma's room. I took a glance inside the room and saw my siblings sleeping peacefully. Emma look like she's having a nightmare so I quickly wake her up. She looked at me scared then hugged me crying. I comfort.

"Shh... Let it all out... Shh..." I comfort her. After a few minutes, she seemed to calmed down.

"It's okay... It's just a nightmare... It's not true." I said. I know what she felt. I wanted to tell her that I know what she's feeling but I can't.

"Conny..." she mumbled.

"What about Conny?" I asked.

"She... She's..." she mumbled. I know that she wants to tell me but she can't. It hurts when you can't actually tell someone what makes you sad.

"She's what?" I asked.

"Can we... Can we talk later?" she asked.

"Of course but please tell me what's the problem, okay?" I said concern. She nodded.

"Go back to sleep now." I said. I hum her a lullaby. A lullaby that I heard many years ago. She fell asleep.

I made my way towards the kitchen and started to cook breakfast. The kids woke up and was now preparing the table. Emma was arranging the plates. She heard Mom's voice and got scared. Norman walked in with two kids in his hands.

"Good morning, Emma." he greeted us. He whispered something to Emma. We started to eat breakfast. After breakfast I decided to spy on them.

Timeskip in the other room.~

"Listen, Emma. We have to behave like we normally do. Yesterday, we broke the roles and went out to the gate. But we didn't find anything." Norman said.

"But Little Bunny..." Emma said.

"Yeah, Mom probably found it. But she doesn't know who left it there. Mom was smiling. They doesn't show it on her face at all." Emma said.

"And that's what we have to do, too. If our faces show it, Mom will notice. We can't lose. Let's smile." Norman said. Emma pushed herself to smile.

"The delicious feed, the white clothes where dirt can easily stand out, the well-regulated life... This is all to maintain our quality as merchandise. The only thing that we can do is to wait as we are shipped out indiscriminately." Emma said.

"It's not indiscriminately. Remember what the demon said? "Another six-year-old. We've been shipping out normal quality ones." Norman explains.

'Good.' I thought.

"What does that mean?" Emma asked.

"Judging from does words, age probably equals the grade of meat. If I remember correctly, the siblings who were shipped out were between six and twelve years old. If being six years old is ranked normal, then the highest quality is..." Norman said pausing.

"Twelve years old..." Emma said.

"But what about our scores? Meat won't taste better even if we get good scores on tests, right?" Emma asked.

"Yeah. It was never announced unless we got full scores, but maybe..." Norman paused. Emma's eyes widen.

"The order of getting shipped out?" Emma asked. Norman nods.

"After we turn six, we get harvested starting from the lower test scores. And when we turn 12, we get shipped out no matter what." Norman explained.

'You're really smart after all, Norman.' I thought.
