Elijah knew where he was headed, but he wasn't sure how it would go. He had to try, though. He called Elena and asked if he could come back with Bonnie. Elena had anxiously given the okay and with that, he was off running at full speed. He was at the Bennett residence within two minutes. All the lights were off, and he couldn't detect a heartbeat. Elijah was about to break into a panic until he heard the automobile approaching. Sure enough, Bonnie pulled into her driveway, but rather than get out of the car, she rolled down her window. "Elijah, it's been a long night. Whatever you're scheming, I'm not in the mood." The young witch was in rough shape. She was on edge, and exhausted. She had a death grip on her steering wheel and was sporting a ferocious glare. "Miss Bennett, I've come to solicit you for a favor, I mean you no harm." Elijah stated smoothly.

Bonnie's grasp relaxed somewhat, but the glint in her eyes remained the same. She let out a groan as she turned her car off and stepped into the driveway. "My best friend just died because of your sister. What in the hell makes you think you can beg me for a favor?" The teen was nearly frothing at the mouth, spitting each word through clenched teeth. Elijah measured each word delicately, he needed Bonnie's help. "I can never atone for my sister's horrific actions. There are no words that can sufficiently convey my deep remorse, but Elena is why I'm here. She is in transition, and I'm hoping you could help me make it smoother and safer for her." Bonnie had clearly not received the news yet. She shuffled backward a trace, her face revealing her astonishment and dismay. Elijah could see her choking down a sob. "What can I do?" She asked. Elijah was thankful she had moved right along. "I've brought a ring I was hoping we could use as a daylight ring, and I was also hoping you could aid me with a spell." Elijah had grabbed the few items Bonnie would require from his study in the mansion before heading over. The Bennett girl was undoubtedly still in shock as she made her path to the door and called over her shoulder for him to come in. Elijah assumed he'd be dis-invited promptly following his visit as soon as she regained her composure.

Bonnie gestured for Elijah to follow her into the kitchen as she set her things down on the counter. "What kind of spell?" The witch asked, her general unease and frustration with the current situation was evident in her tone. Elijah hesitated at this. He wasn't sure how Miss Bennett would respond to his idea. "I'd like to link my life-force to Elena's," he eventually spoke after the awkward pause. Shock was clearly plastered all over Bonnie's face as he finished. "Why" she breathed. "I want her to be strong enough to not live in a constant state of worry," Elijah explained before proceeding. "I found this spell while looking for a means to further protect Elena while drawing out Niklaus, I was anxious to use it because I had believed it would have to be two-sided, and I did not want to be as fragile as a human during that time but after some research, I think it's feasible to do it so that I remain unaffected while Elena becomes much stronger." He took out the sheet containing the spell and gave it to the witch. Bonnie sat down and read over the spell and Elijah's notes on the side. "Your observations are correct. These modifications would allow for Elena to have all the benefits of being an original while providing you none of the downfalls." The young woman glanced up from the paper then, the questions lingering in her gaze. Surprisingly, she didn't inquire. "I expect what you have here would work, but we have a dilemma. It calls for the blood of the doppelganger I'm not confident that undead blood would count." Elijah had expected this and pulled out the tiny vial he had taken from Niklaus's safe before coming here. "I took it from my brother," he offered in explanation.

At the mention of Klaus, Bonnie jumped up in a frenzy. "Where is Elena" she demanded in a rush. "I have her at the mansion" Elijah replied. Bonnie started grabbing things and running for her car. "We need to leave now," she yelled. Elijah followed her outside, still not understanding the sudden alarm. "I give you my word Elena is perfectly safe" he tried to soothe the panicked witch. "Get in, and I will explain" Bonnie gestured to her car. Once he was seated, she peeled out of the driveway and sped toward the mansion. "Klaus is alive Elijah, killing him would have killed our friends, my mother, and Elena's... love interests I put him in Tyler's body until I can place him back in his own." Bonnie rushed out. "Miss Bennett, I assure you no one can locate Elena. As it is, she will have to let us in. She is in the panic area" Elijah stated after a minute. He would not respond to the news of Niklaus yet. He sensed it was a sore subject for Bonnie, and he needed her calm and focused on Elena.

Of course, Elijah was happy to hear that his brother had survived after all. It had lifted a great weight from his shoulders in that regard, but he also trusted that Niklaus could handle himself for the time being. "I just told you your brother was alive, and you have no comment" Bonnie uttered as she pulled into the driveway. "If we could take a moment Miss Bennett, I must call Elena and walk her through letting us in, and we will need to make a daylight ring out here as there aren't windows in the panic area." Elijah said as he grabbed the box from his pocket and passed it to the witch. This was the part he was most nervous about. Bonnie opened the black velvet box and gasped. In the box was a smaller, more delicate version of his family's ring. Elijah held his unnecessary breath. Bonnie turned to stare at him, now clearly warring with herself. Elijah sighed, he knew he would have to explain himself now. "This is a Mikaelson ring." Bonnie started darkly before continuing, "Why would I force Elena into wearing your family ring for all eternity?" Elijah pulled out the other box in his pocket, in retrospect, he should have presented both at the same time, he thought to himself as he handed her the other box. "I have two rings, the family ring is for later, should Elena so choose." Elijah sighed as he spoke, knowing he owed the witch an explanation. "I have always understood her, felt her moods. There is a connection between Elena and myself I cannot describe. I feel for her, maybe with her is more accurate.

I did not want to, but I let her in. Miss. Bennett, I never let anyone in, only twice since I was turned. Elena is unaware, and the last thing I want is for her to be made aware while dealing with all of this. I would never push her into anything, and there is a distinct possibility she will never see the ring of my family." Elijah glanced over to gauge Bonnie's reaction. Her mouth was hanging open in shock, but her eyes had softened a touch. She finally snapped out of her shock and stuttered a bit. "I believe the term you're searching for Miss Bennett is O.M.G" Elijah drawled with a smirk.

Bonnie laughed until she had tears streaming down her face. "OK, I'm going to spell them both, but for Elena only, thank you for explaining. I expect you to keep my best friend in line. I'm trusting you with this spell, do not make me regret it." Bonnie stated firmly before spelling the rings and handing them back to him and adding, "also if you hurt my best friend I will retaliate." Elijah tucked the family ring in his inside jacket pocket. "Miss Bennett, I promise on all accounts to hold Elena's best interest in the highest of regards. Please follow me inside, and we shall call Elena and walk her through letting us inside." Elijah was back in control of his emotions now, the neutral mask back in place, his voice calm and assured. He was ready for this, he told himself as they walked through the doorway.
